Independant Cossack State at 1649 AD (under Bohdan Khmelnytsky control).
Ѕѣнові Богданъ Хмелнiцкiи was a Ukrainian military commander and Hetman of the Zaporozhian Host, which was then under the suzerainty of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth. He led an uprising against the Commonwealth and its magnates (1648–1654) that resulted in the creation of an independent Ukrainian Cossack state. In 1654, he concluded the Treaty of Pereyaslav with the Russian Tsar and allied the Cossack Hetmanate with Tsardom of Russia, thus placing central Ukraine under Russian protection.

Latin/Greek language boundary in the Roman Empire
Unlike in the West Romans didn’t need to establish any language network in the East. There was already a lingua franca, as Greek language had been spread due to a Greek, Alexander the Great, his conquests and colonization during the hellenistic age

The Alaska-Canada border.
The actual border (yellow) appears to be a compromise between the Canadian claim (brown) and the American one (blue) [green was the claim of British Columbia]
The UK didn't really care about Canadian intersts and tryed to mollify the USA, so the modern border cuts off all Canadian access in northern British Columbia and the Yukon to the sea

Map of the US Pacific Islands Region

US-Affiliated Pacific Islands (USAPI): the Territories of Guam and American Sāmoa (AS), the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands (CNMI), the Republic of Palau (RP), the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), and the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI). While citizens of Guam and CNMI are U.S. citizens, those from AS are U.S. Nationals. Under the Compact of Free Association (COFA) citizens from FSM, RP, and RMI are permitted to live and work in the U.S. without visas, and the U.S. armed forces may operate in COFA areas. On this map, shaded areas indicate the exclusive economic zone (EEZ) of each island, including regional Marine National Monuments
Nuclear agreements in Africa

Despite the subtitle in the picture, the fact is that China, although a very new player in the nuclear power market, has already begun to challenge Russia's dominance in its traditional market - Africa

Joint War Plans Committee plans: JWPC 385/1

For a short time, during WW2, the Allied Forces discussed an occupation plan that would have divided Japan into four occupation zones. This plan was known as the Joint War Plans Committee plans: JWPC 385/1. Japan would have been divided between the United States, the Soviet Union, the Republic of China and the British Empire, the 4 victors of WW2.

The purpose behind the plan was to ensure that the burdens of occupation were spread evenly to ensure that it was manageable. The US State Department planners believed at least 800,000 soldiers would be needed to occupy Japan and pacify a potentially still fanatical and militant population or rogue military hardliners that might still continue to fight Japan despite the official declaration of surrender by the Emperor of Japan. The US wanted to share this burden and so planned to have Japan divided like Germany

The Treaty of Tartu [October 1920] (Finland–Russia) was enacted following a significant armed conflict, often referred to as the Second Finno-Soviet War, that took place between Finland and Soviet Russia from March 1918 to May 1920. This conflict unfolded concurrently with the Russian Civil War. Sparked by Finland's annexation of several Soviet districts in East Karelia, which was executed by Finnish expeditionary forces, the conflict has never been officially recognized as a "war" by either Finnish or Soviet historiography.

The treaty delineated new boundaries between Finland and Soviet Russia, with Finland acquiring Petsamo (marked in red). This acquisition allowed Finland access to the Arctic Ocean through a strategic corridor, including the valuable frost-free port of Petsamo and the region's nickel mines. Meanwhile, the previously annexed regions of Repola and Porajärvi (marked in green) reverted to Soviet Russia
