🇨🇦 The Canadian Anti-Hate Network (CAHN) is an Antifa operation Chaired by former Chief Executive Officer of the Jewish-Canadian Congress Bernie Farber. CAHN receives funding from both the Canadian government (With government funding beginning in 2020 and the CAHN receiving $268'400 in from government grants in 2022 alone) and Canadian banking institutions (Roughly $250'000 from the Bank of Montreal in 2020 alone). There have been myriad controversies surrounding their quality of work, allegations, and more, some of which include:
-In October 2022 The Government of Saskatchewan's Ministry of Education declining to use a CAHN anti-racism teacher toolkit because, among other reasons, "The toolkit does not meet criteria such as being high quality, free from bias as reasonably possible..."
-CAHN board member Richard Warman filed a defamation lawsuit against Jonathan and Barbara Kay for publishing tweets critical of CAHN's connection to the American Antifa movement. On November 10th, 2022 the Ontario Superior Court of Justice dismissed the defamation lawsuit, ruling that the tweets in question were not defamatory. Quoting from Judge David Dwoskin:
The evidence disclosed that CAHN did in fact assist Antifa and that the movement has been violent. The Kays submission, which I accept, is that a human rights network like CAHN arguably (except in the most extreme circumstances) should not support a violent movement, and to do so, to most reasonable observers, would not be a "good look". -In September 2023 Canadian lawyer, who is also a non-White woman and child of immigrants, Caryma Sa'd and Elisa Hategan released an article and 84 page report titled "The HateGate Affair: Unmasking Canada's Hate Industry". This investigation exposed how the Canadian government largely ignored their own intelligence and security services who informed them that the 2022 Freedom Protesters and associated movements were not a threat to national security, and instead made decisions, including the decision to invoke the Emergencies Act for the only time in Canadian history, based on CAHN's low quality work. The report also exposed how "mainstream media" largely cited CAHN in their slander towards freedom loving Canadians.

Ukrainian president Zelensky and his wife arrived in Ottawa late Thursday night for his first official visit to Canada since the war began.
The pair were greeted on the tarmac by a small delegation that included Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland and Ukraine’s ambassador to Canada, Yuliya Kovaliv.
On Friday Zelensky will meet with top Canadian officials and members of the Ukrainian Canadian community. Zelensky is also set to address Parliament – his first in-person address since the war began.
He and Trudeau are expected to sign an agreement to continue strengthening economic ties between the two countries.

Relations between Canada and India are rapidly deteriorating after Justin Trudeau said the Canadian government is investigating "credible allegations" about the possible involvement of Indian government agents in the assassination of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
▪️Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a prominent Sikh separatist leader in B.C. and a Canadian citizen, was killed outside a Sikh temple in Surrey, B.C., on June 18. Nijjar supported a Sikh homeland in the form of an independent Khalistani state and was designated by India as a "terrorist" in July 2020. Today, Canada has the largest population of Sikhs outside of the northern Indian state of Punjab.
Prior to that, on June 4, a Khalistani parade was held in Brampton, Ont., featuring a float depicting the assassination of Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by her Sikh bodyguards in 1984. The act sparked outrage from the Indian government.
In early September, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave Prime Minister Trudeau a cold reception at the G20 summit in New Delhi, expressing his concern about Sikh activities in Canada. The two leaders did not hold a bilateral meeting. Ottawa suspended talks on a proposed trade treaty with India.
🔹On Monday, Sept. 18, Trudeau said that in investigation into Nijjar's death, the government has gathered both human and signals intelligence that points to Indian involvement. Trudeau then called for India's cooperation in the investigation. Shortly after Trudeau's remarks, Canada expelled a senior Indian diplomat from the country.
🔹India's foreign ministry said Tuesday that it had given the senior Canadian diplomat five days to leave the country.
🔹On Wednesday, a spokesman for Global Affairs Canada confirmed that Canada would pull some of its staff out of the country, citing threats on social media. At the same time, India issued a travel advisory, warning its citizens to be cautious when traveling to Canada.
🔹On Thursday, India announced it was suspending new visas for Canadians, and asked Ottawa to reduce its diplomatic presence in the country.

Sikh separatist on India’s most wanted list murdered in Winnipeg
Indian media is reporting that Sukhdool Singh Gill, who also goes by the alias Sukha Duneke, was shot and killed in Winnipeg on Wednesday, in what media is describing as a gang-related murder.
Winnipeg Police confirmed in a statement that a 39-year-old Sukhdool Singh Gill has been idenitifed as the victim in an ongoing homicide investigation but did not elaborate on his alleged gang connections.
On Wednesday, India’s National Investigation Agency released a list of 43 individuals accused of being involved in terror or gang related activities, some with links in Canada. Duneke was ranked no. 33 on the list.
Ranked no. 1 is Lawrence Bishnoi, whose gang has apparently already claimed responsibility for the killing of Duneke.

💰Canada Pension Plan says flat 'NO!' to Alberta claim on half of CPP assets
The report on an Alberta pension plan says the province is entitled to $334 billion from the Canada Pension Plan. That is 53 per cent of all the funds held by the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board.
The flat “no” came quickly from Michel Leduc, senior global communication director for CPP Investments, the governing board.
"We respect the right of Albertans to consider withdrawing from the Canada Pension Plan, however, the amount the report says could be extracted from the CPP is impossible and based on an invented formula," he said.
"References to how much a province might claim from the CPP Fund should be regarded with caution and a high degree of skepticism until many issues are resolved between federal and provincial governments."

The governments of British Columbia, Ontario and Newfoundland and Labrador lost up to $2.47 billion in tax revenues over four years due to the growth in illegal tobacco sales, says a convenience industry report.
The Convenience Industry Council of Canada report released Wednesday examined the downward trend in legal tobacco sales in the three provinces since 2019, compared with the rising growth in the underground contraband tobacco market.
The report said there are more profits in selling illegal cigarettes than illicit drugs, yet the penalties for getting caught with the cigarettes are less harsh.
🔹It estimated B.C. lost between $215 million and $591 million in tobacco tax revenue to the illegal sales between 2019 and 2022.
🔹In Ontario, the loss for the same time period was valued between $990 million and $1.8 billion, and between $25 million and $81 million in Newfoundland, the report said, which suggested the losses could be similar for the other provinces not included in the review.
🔹Illegal cigarette sales could comprise up to 67 per cent of Ontario's total tobacco market, 45 per cent in B.C. and 44 per cent in Newfoundland.

According to a poll conducted by Abacus Data, more than half of post-secondary graduates incurred student debt to pay for school, and those with a debt greater than $5,000 say that their debt makes it difficult to save for a home.
The poll also finds that 42 per cent of graduates are considering moving provinces for more affordable housing options, and 75 per cent express a desire to own a home one day.

Fraud in auto, credit card, mortgage sectors rise amid interest rate hikes
An Equifax Canada report shows fraud in the automotive sector has surged 28 per cent, year-over-year, while the credit cards saw a jump of 37.9 per cent. The mortgage sector saw an 18.8 per cent increase in the fraud rate.
The report says fraudsters are using synthetic identities, which are a combination of real and fake details, making up for 68.5 per cent of all fraudulent credit card applications.

The College of Family Physicians of Canada wants to increase the length of family medicine residency from two years to three as a way of preparing doctors for more complex patients. Residency is the clinical specialty training that new physicians must do after they obtain their medical degrees; they can't practice without completing it.
The College did consultations with established family doctors, medical schools, students and residents, as well as looked at programs in other countries, to conclude two years is not enough time to learn the core skills, plus subjects such as elder care, new technologies and virtual care, mental health and addictions. The first three-year program is expected to roll out in 2027.
The plan is raising concerns it will increase the shortage of family doctors at a time when six million Canadians don't have access to one.

During the period of 2016-2022, 13,605 foreigners were ordered deported but 8,723 — or 64% — remained in Canada. Incomplete figures showed about 10% of deportees left voluntarily.
The CBSA has promised to increase its deportation rate.

Rota introduced Hunka as a war "hero" who fought for "Ukrainian independence against the Russians."
Members of Parliament from all parties rose to applaud Hunka.
Hunka was a member of the Waffen-SS Galicia Division or the SS 14th Waffen Division, a volunteer unit that fought on the side of the Nazis.
On Sunday, different Canadian Jewich organizations demanded an apology for honoring a man who was part of the division that “was responsible for the mass murder of innocent civilians with a level of brutality and malice that is unimaginable.”
In a statement late Sunday afternoon, Rota said he recently became “aware of more information which causes me to regret my decision” to recognize Hunka. He said he takes full responsibility for this mistake.

New federal party takes shape
The interim leader of Canada's newest fledgling federal party says he wants it to be an option for people who are tired of both the governing Liberals and the Conservatives, who he says are guilty of "rage farming."
New Brunswick Independent MLA Dominic Cardy made the comment as the group Centre Ice Canadians announced its plans to form a new party called Canadian Future. Cardy said the group, which had first been called Centre Ice Conservatives, decided to change its name after months of consultation on the idea of launching a new party.
A group of moderate Tories used the group as a vehicle to push for change during last year's Conservative leadership race, arguing their party should focus on topics such as affordability rather than issues arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic.
They eventually broadened their scope, swapping out "Conservatives" for "Canadians" in the title so as to include Liberals who were interested in the push for a more centrist message in Canadian politics.
Cardy said that the new party plans to hold a convention next year and hopes to run a slate of candidates whenever the next federal election rolls around.

As a Jewish lawyer from Richmond Hill, Cherniak wrote on X he "can hardly imagine a more embarrassing moment" than "unknowingly applauding a Nazi soldier."
He rushed to find someone to blame, saying that "with Putin’s mischaracterization of Ukraine and it’s Jewish president as a Nazi state, this will create a lot of ammunition for further disinformation around the world."
Cherniak described Speaker Anthony Rota's decision to invite the former Nazi soldier to Parliament a "mistake."
"Lots of people wouldn’t know enough history to be careful of such things," he writes.
Unfortunately, politicians who give billions of dollars to other countries don't actually know history well enough.

RCMP to pack up, tear down facilities at Quebec's Roxham Road
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police are taking down their facilities on Quebec's Roxham Road, an unofficial border crossing that served as a pathway into the country for countless asylum seekers.
In March, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and U.S. President Joe Biden announced that they were closing a long-standing loophole in the Safe Third Country Agreement. The agreement calls for asylum seekers to apply for refugee status in the first of two countries they enter. Prior to March, the deal only applied to official ports of entry.
"Following the modification to the Safe Third Country Agreement, the number of migrants that cross through Roxham Road has dwindled and our presence here is no longer necessary," said Sgt. Charles Poirier.
Poirier said the removal of its facilities on Roxham Road means the RCMP will no longer have a constant physical presence on Roxham Road. It will instead rely on regular patrols and camera surveillance.
The spokesperson said the facilities at Roxham Road were meant to last three to five years. The decrease in foot traffic and the considerable cost of upgrading the facilities played major roles in the RCMP's decision to tear them down.

The report focuses on the spinal condition scoliosis to highlight the broader issue of prolonged pediatric surgery wait times following the COVID-19 pandemic. 2,778 children are currently waiting for scoliosis surgery in Canada.
While the clinically recommended time frame for paediatric spinal surgery is six months, the report estimates that only 38 per cent of pediatric scoliosis patients are having surgeries within that period in Canada.

Canadian Sikhs staged small protests outside India's diplomatic missions on Monday, a week after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said there may be a link between New Delhi and the murder of a Sikh separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar .
About 100 protesters in Toronto burned an Indian flag and struck a cardboard cut-out of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a shoe. About 200 protesters also gathered outside the Vancouver consulate.
In Ottawa, fewer than 100 people gathered in front of the Indian High Commissioner's office (embassy) in the capital. They waved yellow flags marked with the world "Khalistan", a reference to their support for making India's Punjab region an independent state for Sikhs, a cause Nijjar campaigned for.
"We are really thankful to Justin Trudeau... We want no stone left unturned to get to the bottom of this cowardly act," a protester said in Ottawa.
