⚡️ Manulization visited Leningrad Zoo!

Recently we visited a fluffy family of manuls in St. Petersburg: brutal Sven, beautiful Namika and their handsome son Shu 😻

We met the zoo staff, keepers and zoologists from the Carnivore Mammal department.

We were very lucky to see how Namika for the very first time gets into the 4th renovated enclosure for manuls, designed for upcoming mating season and, hopefully, for its furry consequences 🤞🏻
Thanks to the joint and coordinated work of manul-urban-planning specialists led by Andrei Suloev, and zoologists led by Irina Pulyazhenkova, the reconstruction of all manul enclosures is now complete. They look completely different from what we saw during our previous visit to the zoo! There are more complicated routes, many different shelves and unusual hiding places. A whole truckload of wood was used for this renovation!
A new video surveillance system was installed in manul enclosures as well. Now zoologists have an opportunity to observe manuls sitting in the office, and be a little more aware of their secretive life without disturbing them. This is very cool! 👍🏼

Несколько дней назад не стало прекрасной Калипсо, сестры Полли и Томаса 😭
Ей было 8 лет.

Мы приносим свои глубочайшие соболезнования немецкому зоопарку Саарбрюккена, где жила Калипсо, и всем мануломанам.
Это огромная утрата. В мире стало меньше на одно абсолютно роскошное и неповторимое пушистое создание...

Dear friends, unfortunately this year starts with sad news... Few days ago beautiful Calypso, a sister of Thomas and Polly, passed away 😭 She was 8 years old.

We send our deepest condolences to Saarbrücken Zoo, Germany where Calypso lived, and to all manulovers.
This is a great loss. The world has lost an absolutely gorgeous and unique fluff...

Sweet dreams beautiful queen. You'll stay forever in our hearts 💔
