"The singer is going out for a walk. In three minutes and 47 seconds she takes us with her and shows us her streets, watches the sunset and “pretends [she] was in New York”. She is thinking about the past, to be exact the early 2000’s where she collected her most memorable stories as an adolescence. “Right there, right there I had my first kiss”, “over there I went to pubs pretending I was 18”. Her afternoon walk quickly turns into a melancholic reflected travel through time. 59:1 (fiftynine to one) is an ode to her home town Munich. It might be the most intimate song on the record.

In Ok, we hear the story of someone struggling to help a close friend stay alive. In an honest and metaphorical way, the song describes the overload of emotional labor that mutates into everyday life. Since nothing helps, the singer agrees that it is not in her power to change things to the better and for this reason switches the focus onto their own health before it gets worse.

* Welcome, Paycheque! **

We are happy to welcome a new band to M&M: LA-based synth-pop duo Paycheque. We have been fans and friends with them for a while and are excited to now be working with them!

They will release their self-titled debut album on June 12th. You can already listen to the first single 'Generic Actress'

-> Pre-Order Vinyl

Here is what the bands says about the song:

"In LA, when you go out, you end up spending a lot of time standing outside of whatever event or party you’ve decided to attend. You’re on the sidewalk, you’re in a strip mall parking lot, you’re on a patio. You smoke, you bump into friends, and you eventually realize you missed half the set you came to see, you never actually made it inside the gallery, the party is winding down. This song is an ode to never quite
making it inside. Sonically, we think of this song as kind of a synth-pop version of an early Cars hit; it’s our attempt to make a propulsive new wave anthem."

* innerinnerlife - crush *

new single by Polish ambient-pop artist innerinnerlife is out now!

-> STREAM
-> VISUALIZER

crush* sits in innerinnerlife's favourite spot, a vague zone between digital and analogue. The single shifts its focus slightly away from atmosphere and lo-fi stylings, bringing more substance to vulnerable, honest songwriting. In all its naivety and innocence, it's a song about springtime and all its promises. Despite the drama unfolding in the lyrics, it ultimately captures a tired après-winter euphoria, when the biggest crush is life itself.

Allison Goldfarb and Jackson MacIntosh (TOPS, Drugdealer) met on the patio of LA's Zebulon weeks before lockdown and bonded over sophisti-pop and italo.

Their debut wears its 80s influences on its sleeve: gated drums, clean guitars, vintage synths in the lineage of Depeche Mode and Pet Shop Boys. But under the gloss it's a record about present-day Los Angeles: impermanence, fire and ICE, the superficiality that trails ambition. Glossy and impossibly catchy, but pop music of the wage, not the salary.

The song is a hymn to the beauty of the night in an industrial urban landscape, dripping with moonlight and desire. Tender and urgent all at once, exploring frequencies that attune, and a moment that passes all too soon.

'Dreaming for Miles' is a collection of songs that were written over the past ten years or so by JJ Weihl and John Moods, alone and together, and recorded between their basement practice space where they started their band Fenster many years ago, and at their home in Berlin. After spending over a decade living together and playing music together, their lives began to pull them in different directions. They decided to make a last record together.

new single by Gdynia, Poland based artist out now!

Built on slow acoustic strums, its simple song form is gradually interrupted by samples, radio interference, and electronic textures - as if the song itself is searching through layers of memory and imagined futures. It is a reminder to cherish the present moment, knowing that the lives we dream about are always more fragile than they appear. A space between the presence and the possibility.
