​​Parambikulam wildlife sanctuary

The Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary is situated at Chittur taluk in the district of Palakkad, Kerala. The Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary is a part of the Parambikulam Tiger Reserve that was established in the year 1973. It is considered one of the best protected sanctuaries in the country. The lush green landscape is home to the ferocious Tiger, elephants, leopards and fresh water crocodiles surrounded by a wide growth of flora and avifauna.

The Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary is cuddled by the Anamalai and the Neeliampathy hills. The picture perfect hills and valleys are a popular attractions for tourists as most of the Wildlfe sanctuary is located on the Anamalai hills giving a sweeping view of the expanse of valley below. There are a total of valleys and 3 rivers that flow through the sanctuary, the Sholayar, the Thekkady and the Parambikulam. The trees are tall and fully grown and the sanctuary is devoid of any unnatural substances with small streams and creeks running all over. There are numerous waterfalls, big and small, that flow through the hills of the forest and it is easy to mistake a big boulder for an elephant at first sight. The entire region is moist with thick vegetation

​​Kannan Devan Hills

Kannan Devan Hills is a large village located in Devikulam Taluk of Idukki District in the Indian state of Kerala. It is situated near the state border of Tamil Nadu about 25 kilometres northeast of the district seat Painavu and 8 kilometres north of the subdistrict seat Devikulam. In 2011, it was home to 55,738 residents. The village was given on lease on 11 July 1877 by the Poonjar Thampuran to John Daniel Munroe of London and Peermade for tea plantation. The lands and plantations were later resumed by the Government of Kerala through the Kannan Devan Hills (Resumption Of Lands) Act, 1971.

Kavanad is a suburban area of Kollam Municipal Corporation in Kerala. It is a major market town located at the northern suburb of Kollam City in India. It is coming under Sakthikulangara zone of Kollam Municipal Corporation. It is just 3 km from the port town of Neendakara. Kavanad, a narrow strip of land sandwiched between the Arabian Sea and the Ashtamudi Lake has one of the highest land values in Kollam city. The town emerged as a major shopping destination in Kollam with the advent of a number of shopping centres. A number of vehicle showrooms are also located at Kavanad-Ramankulangara-Mulamkadakam stretch. The long anticipated Kollam bypass starts just a kilometer before Kavanad from the place called Altharamoodu and was completed in January 2019, Kavanadu had become a major vantage point en route to Trivandrum from Alappuzha and is a fast developing satellite town within Kollam Metropolitan Area. You can also find 24 hr working shops in Kavanad which is a rarity in Kerala. Kavanadu is a major tourist attraction of Kollam district.

The Sebastian Indian School Projects (SISP) is a non-profit organisation that aims to provide free education to the deserved communities of Kerala. In the previous years, the Kovalam Surfing club has sent passionate surfers to join the International Surfing Association course with an intention to bring in more surf instructors.

Apart from this, the Kovalam Surf club has something remarkable. Vizhinjam International Seaport Thiruvananthapuram also known as Port of Trivandrum is India's first deep-water mother port, located in Vizhinjam, Thiruvananthapuram. The Trivandrum port is designed to be a multi-purpose, all-weather, green port located around 20 kilometres (12 mi)11 away from the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. It is India's first automated port & also the first deep water container transshipment port.13 It holds a unique position as the only Indian port directly adjacent to an international shipping lane. It lies just 10 nautical miles (19 km; 12 mi)14 from the heavily trafficked east-west shipping channel connecting Europe, to the Persian Gulf, Southeast Asia, and the Far East (Suez - Far East route and Far East - Middle East route). The port has a natural depth of 24 meters, which reduces the need for dredging, and possesses the capability to host many of the world's massive cargo ships, including those exceeding 24,000 TEU, such as vessels of the ULCS container ships.

​​Kallarkutty Dam

Kallarkutty Dam is a gravity dam built on the Muthirapuzha river, a tributary of the Periyar river, as part of the Neriamangalam Hydroelectric Project at Kallarkutty in Vellathooval panchayat of Idukki district in Kerala, India. The water discharged from the Chenkulam dam's powerhouse and the Muthirapuzha river is diverted to the Neriamangalam powerhouse near Panamkutty above the Pambla dam. The Hydroelectric Project was commissioned on 27 January 1961 to generate 45 MW of power using 3 turbines with a capacity of 15 MW. In 2006, the project was upgraded from 45 MW to 52.65 MW. Taluks through which release flow are Udumbanchola, Devikulam, Idukki, Kothamangalam, Muvattupuzha, Kunnathunadu, Aluva, Kodungalloor and Paravur. The Project was led by Kerala State Electricity Board Engineer E.U. Philipose.

Kainakary is a village in Kuttanad Taluk in Alappuzha District of the Indian state of Kerala. Kainakary was part of the Chembakassery Dynasty. Five rivers originating from the Western Ghats, including the sacred Pamba River, drain into the Vembanad lake in the tip of Kainakary. Once a communist bastion, its literacy rate is notably better than many of its counterparts. The village is close to more than five lakes, which are vast in area. Kainakary is a shooting location for movie/TV soaps/music videos, etc. The village itself has numerous small water bodies, rivers, canals and ponds. People dwell near to canals and river banks mainly. Being part of Kuttanad, vast paddy lands make up the major part of the village. These paddy lands are below sea water level. So the rice cultivation in this area is unique and well appreciated.

​​Kallada River

The Kallada River is the longest river in Kollam District, Kerala, India. The river originates in Kulathupuzha, in the Western Ghats, and flows west, reaching the Arabian Sea after traveling a distance of 120 km (75 mi). The Kallada originates from the south eastern part of the Kollam district. The river originates as multiple streams arising from the Shendurney wildlife sanctuary. The most prominent among these are the Kazhuthuruttiyaaru, which arises from Rosemala and Ambanad Hills and flows southward, the Kulathupuzha river that flows northward from near the Ponmudi hills and the windward side of Agasthyamala Biosphere Reserve, and west flowing streams that arise from the windward side of the Courtallam Hills. These major streams that form the river meet at Thenmala Dam.
