π The second group of Pre-University Foundation Program students took part in a visit to the Academician V.P. Mishin Cosmonautics Laboratory today.
Instead of just observing, students actively engaged with the story of space exploration β from its early breakthroughs to more complex missions. The exhibition offered a closer look at engineering solutions behind spacecraft design, including the LK lunar lander, reentry vehicles, and the iconic R-7 rocket, and many more other space projects and modules.
The visit turned out to be both informative and inspiring, encouraging students to learn more about space science and its future π

π Gagarin Conference at MAI
More than 1,200 young scientists from Russia, China, the United States, India, Nigeria, and other countries gathered at the Moscow Aviation Institute for the 52nd International Youth Scientific Conference Gagarin Conference, which took place last week.
The conference gave young researchers an opportunity to present their work, receive expert feedback, and connect with future colleagues.
This year, 922 reports were submitted by participants from 48 universities and 36 high-tech companies. Over three days, the program was divided into nine scientific sections, from aerodynamics to propulsion and control systems, with 78 experts evaluating the projects.
Among the participants are MAI students whose presentations were awarded among the best at the conference:
πΉ Liu Yuanhang, Control Science and Engineering student (China):
πΉ Madhimitha Umashanker, Spacecraft Engineering student (India):
The Gagarin Conference continues to bring together ideas, people, and technologies shaping the future of aerospace.

My project is an unmanned ground vehicle control system based on a dual-processor architecture. I separated heavy tasks like video streaming from real-time control to avoid delays and improve responsiveness. Studying at MAI gave me the technical foundation and confidence to work on this kind of engineering problem.
πΉ Madhimitha Umashanker, Spacecraft Engineering student (India):
My research focuses on orbital perturbations and station keeping in low Earth orbit. I study how atmospheric drag and other effects influence satellite motion, and how electric propulsion can reduce fuel consumption while keeping orbits stable. At MAI I had the opportunity to develop this topic seriously and present it at a high scientific level, which was very important for my work.
The Gagarin Conference continues to bring together ideas, people, and technologies shaping the future of aerospace.

Dear friends,
Congratulations on Victory Day!
Decades pass and generations change, but May 9 remains a sacred date for us. It is a symbol of national unity, courage, and the strength of spirit of our people. We bow our heads before the heroes of the front and the workers of the home front, before everyone who, at the cost of incredible efforts, brought May 1945 closer.
Important tasks stand before our generation β to preserve historical truth and, through responsible work, contribute to the countryβs economic and technological development, as well as to its strength and security. May the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War serve as a moral support, inspire good deeds, and remind us of the value of a peaceful sky above our heads.
I wish you good health, prosperity, and confidence in the future.
Happy Victory Day!
Rector of MAI
Mikhail Pogosyan
