I’m glad Christians are speaking out in favor of Harrison Butker, but I highly doubt the backlash is entirely anti-Christian in nature. A White male spoke in favor of families. I cannot help but think had a non-White Catholic spoken on the issue there wouldn’t have been articles.

The Biden administration and the like have made it very clear the enemy of the State is not Christians per se, but White folks. Many of us happen to be Christian, of course - but we aren’t the only targets, just the easiest scapegoat.

Pssst, ladies: your responsibility is to your husband, not lifestyle LARPers of any variety on the internet. Too many of my friends get anxiety from “the discourse” in this place and not “living up” to it. Is your husband happy with you? Then everything else is just noise.

It’s actually insane that popular opinion eventually convinced fathers that sending their teenage daughters away from home to live alone, often times in far away cities, with all strangers all under the guise of education - was a great idea. Turns out you can convince parents of a lot of things if you just say “it will educate/culturally enrich them.”

The takeaway from the outrage to Harrison Butker giving a Catholic speech at a Catholic university- is that no matter how much you stay in your lane, talk to your own group- they hate you. They hate your children. They don’t want you around at ALL. A large portion wants you dead. And by the way, it’s not for being a Christian.

Not being able to imagine doing anything except “working” and believing it’s the only “rewarding” activity is disturbing. The atomized cannot comprehend being involved with anything social other than a career. Women used to do all sorts of amazing volunteer work for communities.

Another casualty of “multiculturalism” is no one truly being able to feel like they belong and that their community is something they can truly invest in.
