Ulysses App - Perpetual License Available?
Hi Everyone,
I was just checking Ulysses to see what is new. I didnt check them since they switch to the subscription model. However when I checked just yesterday it seems they brought back the perpetual license option. But there is no information about what it covers: one version? all future versions? all Mac iPad iPhone apps?
It looks fairly new because it is not even mentioned on their website. And before dropping 200 euros to an app, I wanted to ask you guys if anyone knows anything about this license?

PR Labeller 0.9.4 – a native Mac label editor for LabelWriter printers which reads and writes both DYMO Label and DYMO Connect files
Read, write, edit and print DYMO Label and DYMO Connect templates and address books
I wrote this, so take it as a developer saying a thing exists rather than a neutral recommendation.
The problem it solves: DYMO has never shipped an Apple Silicon build of its label software. Not DYMO Label v8, not the current DYMO Connect – both are Intel-only and have been running under Rosetta the whole time. macOS 27 removes Rosetta when you upgrade, and macOS 28 stops Intel apps altogether. The printers are fine; the LabelWriter driver has been universal for years. It was only ever the application that was stuck, which is why people are being told to replace working hardware.
PR Labeller opens the label files you already have, prints through the driver you already have, and doesn't ask you to change anything else.
What's in 0.9.4:
Reads and writes both formats – DYMO Label's .label and DYMO Connect's .dymo. A file you haven't changed is written back byte for byte as it arrived, so DYMO's own software opens it afterwards as though nothing had touched it.
Address books from either program (.abx and .db), plus plain CSV.
Text can be edited on the label itself, not only in a panel.
Tape labels – the cassette kind from a Duo or a LabelManager – open and print. Saving them back isn't ready yet.
It also designs labels: text, pictures, barcodes, shapes, rotation at any angle, snapping, unlimited undo, and a print alignment test with sub-millimetre offsets.
Free and fully unlocked until 1 March 2027. After that, printing your existing labels stays free permanently and designing becomes a one-off £9.99 – no subscription, no account, nothing phones home.
Universal, macOS 14 or later, signed with a Developer ID and notarised.

Happy to answer anything. Both reports that shaped this release came by email rather than in public, so feedback does get read.

OSQuick Update: Sonexis is Open to Contributions
Sonexis is now ready for open-source contributions!
I've added a CONTRIBUTING.md with setup and contribution guidelines, and opened a few starter issues for bugs, improvements, and features that are ready to be worked on.
Bug reports, feature ideas, and pull requests are welcome as well.
If you're interested in macOS audio, Core Audio, DSP, Swift, or UI work, the repo is here:
