I've decided to build several macOS apps as side projects besides my actual work
Hello there
I've decided to build several macOS apps as side projects besides my actual work, and I currently have 3 simple apps available.
Sticktop: a nice to use (and look at) app for creating, editing and adding sticker to your macOS desktop.
Windowcase: add high quality borders to your Mac windows.
Penfont: a high quality tool that can turn your handwriting (or any page from your notebook) into a macOS font that you can use anywhere.
Would appreciate your feedback and support!
\- P.S. I can assure you that these are not "ai slop" even though I have nothing against using AI for productivity.

Any apps that help my change audio and mic source from the upper taskbar
Any apps that help me change audio and mic source from the upper taskbar? Getting tired of always going to settings to do it. Only looking to switch audio/mic source don't need anything to do with mixing.
free or low cost is fine.

Sonexis - Shape your Audio in Real TimeMacOS.
Hey Guys,
I've been incrementally working on Sonexis for a while now, with the idea of making audio processing on macOS feel a lot more open-ended and user friendly. Instead of just giving you a bunch of effects with some sliders, Sonexis gives you a node editor where you can actually build out your processing paths. A big part of the app is customizability: You can branch your audio into parallel chains, process the left and right channels independently, and even use external Audio Units alongside Sonexis's built-in effects.
Sonexis isn't just an EQ app or a simple stack of audio effects either. It comes with a wide mix of processing tools and creative effects, from EQs and compressors to tremolo, stereo widening, reverb, and more, all of which can be combined however you want inside the node editor. This in tandem with your own Audio Units allow you to experiment and create/shape the audio however you want.

With the latest update, you can now have independent chains for each app, giving you even more control over how your Mac sounds. I've also added a menu bar panel, so you don't need to constantly open Sonexis just to make quick changes.
I've put a lot of effort into the UX of Sonexis. There are tutorials throughout the app, starter presets to help you get going, and your work is saved so you don't have to rebuild everything every time you come back.
Independent App Chains
The Menu Bar Controls
Also it's worth mentioning that Sonexis doesn't use or install any virtual audio devices or drivers. It uses Apple's Process Taps directly so there's no need for any extra setup.
Competitors: Similar apps include AudioHijack($69) and SoundSource($49). Sonexis on top of being free, doesn't use a virtual audio device or driver and gives you a much more open-ended approach for building/experimenting with your own chains, and hey it's open source!
As is always, Sonexis isn't a complete application and there's always areas to improve, if you come across any bugs or any features you think Sonexis could have I'd love to hear your thoughts. Feel free to leave them on the Github Issues page or the feedback form on the website.

A native Mac app for Sankey diagrams (SankeyFlow) - made by me 😊
Hey folks 👋
I just put out my first Mac app, SankeyFlow, and this felt like the right place to show it off since you all actually care about apps feeling native instead of like a website wearing a trench coat.
Backstory: I make Sankey diagrams (the flow charts, budgets splitting into rent/food/savings, that kind of thing) more than a normal person should. Excel technically does them but it's miserable, Google Sheets can't, and Sankeymatic works but still feels like a tool from 2004. I wanted something that felt like an actual Mac app: a document you save, a proper inspector, keyboard shortcuts, dark mode that isn't an afterthought.
So I built it. I'm not a Swift developer by trade, I leaned hard on Claude Code for a lot of the implementation, but every design decision, every "no that's not it, try again" was me obsessing over details nobody will probably notice. Things like:
the color gradients between flows blend through a proper color space instead of just interpolating RGB, so you don't get that muddy brown blob you get from blue → orange in most tools
you can build a diagram three ways: type it as plain text (
exports to PNG, PDF, and actual clean SVG, not a rasterized mess
One-time payment in the Mac App Store. Your content is yours.
It's on the Mac App Store now: sankeyflow.app has the details and a link.
I'd genuinely love feedback from this sub specifically, you're the pickiest audience about what "feels native" even means, and if something bugs you about it I want to know before I get too attached to how it works now. Happy to answer anything about the build too.
