How does it stand out against other apps?

Looking for Calendar entries in the Menu Bar
Hey all, I've recently moved away from Raycast, in order to remove yet another subscription from my life. I've moved over to Alfred, and it does 99.99% of everything I need. The ONE thing I am missing, though, is the ability to see my calendar entries in the menu bar, be able to click on them (if they are meeting entries), which opens up Zoom.
I can't find a way to do this is in Alfred, or Barbee which is my menu bar app of choice.
What other apps are there, which will sit in the menu bar and give me the same functionality for calendar entries that Raycast used to do?

I built Atheria, a native (swift and metal) macOS live-wallpaper app.
**The problem**
Live wallpapers on Mac usually make you pick two of three: pretty, efficient, or private. Most animated-wallpaper apps either hammer your battery, hand you the same stock loops everyone else has, or run through a server and an account. I wanted one that looks alive, stays out of your way, keeps everything on your machine, and lets you make something that's actually yours instead of picking from a catalog.
**How it compares**
\- vs Wallux: a big library of stock video loops (10k+), with a subscription tier plus a lifetime option. The trade is it's the same clips everyone else has, it's a direct download rather than the App Store, and it streams from a server. Atheria is generative: real-time shaders plus a Flame Creator that grows fractal flames from a small "genome," so what you make is one of a kind (there are more possible flames than atoms in the universe, and I generated ten million to confirm no two match). It's on the App Store, sandboxed, and never phones home.
\- vs Backdrop: another curated video catalog with a watermarked trial, and its headline is a live lock-screen video. Atheria isn't a catalog you browse, it's an engine you create with, and it drops to 0 fps the moment a window covers the desktop, so it's close to free on battery.
**Why no live lock screen**
A couple of these apps offer an animated lock screen, and I left it out on purpose. The only way to do it on macOS is to run outside the App Sandbox and overwrite private system files, which is exactly why every app that offers it ships as a direct download instead of through the App Store. I'd rather stay sandboxed and on the App Store, because that's what makes "nothing leaves your Mac" a promise I can keep instead of just a line. Atheria still syncs a matching still image to your lock screen, just not live video.

ActionClip isn’t currently on the Mac App Store because its system-wide text-selection features and user-created shell/AppleScript actions require capabilities that don’t fit within Apple’s App Sandbox restrictions.
The app is signed with a Developer ID certificate linked to my official Apple Developer account and notarized by Apple, so macOS Gatekeeper can verify that it comes from an identified developer and hasn’t been tampered with.

Photos App (MacOS) - Move photos library from Intel iMac (Sequoia) to MBP M5 (Tahoe) on external drive
I have Photos App (running internally on a 4TB) on a 2020 iMac running Sequoia 15.7.8.
I want to move my photos library over to a 2026 MBP M5 Pro running Tahoe but the photos library will be on an external drive not the MBP internal drive.
What is the best way to do this? Doesn't the photos library on Sequoia do some sort of conversation when it is placed on Photos App running Tahoe?
Any help is appreciated!

Hi everyone,
I made my own markdown editor. It's called wander, native on Mac, also works on iPhone and iPad.

Problem:
Markdown editors make you choose: either a nice editing experience with your notes locked in a database (Apple Notes), or plain files on disk but raw markup and preview panes (Obsidian, iA Writer). I wanted Apple Notes editing feel on top of plain markdown files I fully control. So:
\- WYSIWYG editing: tables, images, checklists are real editable blocks, not preview
\- your notes stay plain markdown files in folders you control, no account, no cloud required
\- mostly compatible with Obsidian vaults (wikilinks, callouts, tags, frontmatter, theme support coming soon)
\- byte-faithful saves: if you keep notes in git, opening and saving a file with no edits produces zero diff. Nobody else does this
\- version history built in: every save is kept locally, timeline per note or whole vault, see what changed, restore or name any version. No git knowledge needed, no server. If your vault is already a git repo, your real commits show in the timeline too
\- also: ⌘K search, backlinks, comments on selected text, Finder tags, a wander terminal command, one-click default app for .md
Comparison:
\- vs Obsidian: native instead of Electron, true WYSIWYG instead of live-preview (no markup flickering as the cursor moves). Opens your existing vault as-is
\- vs Apple Notes: same editing feel, but real files on disk instead of a database, no lock-in
