Macwhisper support

Has anyone received replies from Jordi lately? I sent him a support request and a follow up, but it's been over a week and I haven't heard anything back so far. That's a bit surprising as he's usually very responsive in my experience.

Eter 3.0: a clean internet radio app for Mac, now with a redesigned grid-based UI

Hey r/macapps,

I last posted about Eter, our internet radio app for Apple devices, when version 2.0 shipped. It's been a while.

Krystian originally built and released it five years ago, and we brought it into the Apparent Software fold so the team could keep growing it together. We’re a small Mac but 20-year old shop (you might know Trickster, ImageFramer, or Cashculator), and Eter is the one we built to do exactly one thing well: be a clean, no-nonsense internet radio receiver that works on all Apple devices.

[The new grid view and player in Eter 3.0](https://preview.redd.it/m1061tg0zjyg1.png?width=864&format=png&auto=webp&s=eabfd828bae88e571acdcbfa88ca1c34f2f72f97)

**Problem:**

There are many apps for internet radio but Eter is getting consistent praise. No ads, no subscription. Find stations in our database or paste any stream URL. Organize favourites. Shazam recognition tells you what’s currently playing, and a played-tracks history lets you find that song you heard yesterday but didn’t write down or open it in Apple Music or Spotify. Favourites sync across your Apple devices via iCloud. No accounts, no servers, nothing tracked. VoiceOver support has been a first-class concern from day one and in last year Eter was nominated for app of the year by AppleVis community for its stellar accessibility.

**Comparison:**

There are other internet radio apps on the Mac. Some are free with ads, some are companion apps to a specific tuner ecosystem (iHeartRadio, TuneIn, etc). Eter’s positioning: ad-free, one-time purchase, native, and built by a small team that actually responds to support emails.

So, version 3.0 just shipped. The Mac app received many improvements:

**A grid view for stations**

Until now, the Mac app showed stations as a list in the sidebar, with most of the window taken up by artwork. In 3.0, station tiles fill the main window. More stations on screen, much nicer look, and you can see the large artwork, if you want. The player view has been rebuilt as well. The whole design also looks great on Tahoe with its Liquid Glass look.

**Refreshed MiniPlayer for macOS Tahoe**

The menu bar MiniPlayer keeps the list view but its look has been refreshed to fit the Liquid Glass interface in macOS Tahoe.

**Also works on other devices**

* The grid view ships on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV too.
* The Apple TV app grew up: search and add stations directly, browse history, sleep timer, Top Shelf support. Usable on its own now, not just as a companion.
* Eter for Android is in final beta 🤫 . Same feature set as iPhone.

I'm torturing myself...Reminders / Things / Todoist

I have gone back and forth between Remninders, Things, and Todoist so many times now that I'm annoying myself but can't stop. Here's why I keep switching (aside from my ADHD and Procrastination behaviors)...

Reminders has the best integration with my Mac apps

Things has the most beautiful UI

Todoist has my favorite workflow

Every so often I copy/recreate all my current tasks and recurring reminders to a different one of these apps because something reminds me of something I loved about that app. I most recently duplicated all tasks and reminders to all 3 and committed to actively using all 3 simulateneously to potentially finally decide which I'll stick with. That ended with me choosing Reminders. Today I'm back in Todoist remembering how it flows so much nicer for my style and am thinking of switch back to it. I think at this point, therapy may be needed :-)

Anyone else do this? Am I alone in this irrational behavior?

Calendar 366 v3 Problems

I've seen an active post discussing the pricing policies of the new Calendar 366 v3. I want to discuss functionality and some of the problems that I'm experiencing with this new release. I'm currently using the free version because I have too many issues to fork over $.

Functionality

1. I haven't been getting any notifications when I receive an invitation. Other apps show a red circle with the number of invites on the app icon. Apparently Calendar 366 v3 does not. Is this a Pro feature?
2. The app supports a menu bar on the Mac version, but it can only show the icon and date/time. No option to show next or upcoming appointments. Is this a Pro feature? I don't see anything about it in the Settings.

Possible Bugs

1. Natural language functionality is intermittent. If I type "Lunch with Tom on Tuesday at 1pm" or ".. On Tuesday from 1 - 2pm" or "... 1pm - 2pm" or "... 1:00pm - 2:00pm" the details usually show today's date (not Tuesday) and sometimes 1:00 - 2:00 am. Other times it may enter 1am and moves the 2 to the location field where it attempts to lookup a location starting with 2.
2. I've only linked my Google calendar to the app. Most entries list correctly but several are repeated multiple times. I've used the same calendar account with BusyCal and Calendar 366II without this problem. I've even hidden all my calendars but the calendar still shows multiple entries. And yes, I do not have any local calendars connected to the app.

I think that the app is beautiful and is a major improvement over Calendar 366II. I'm hoping that the developer can get things fixed so I might splurge for the Pro version.

Is anyone else having these, or other, problems?

Bloom - usage questions

I use 2 panels most of the time in Bloom file manager and would like to switch between them using Tab key.

The default keyboard shortcuts seem to be

⌥ ⇧ ⇥ for Previous panel and
⌥ ⇥ for Next panel.

The first issue is that these don't work for me. Even if they did, I'd like to change both of them to Tab. Not sure if that'd be possible in the app settings.

Any help would be appreciated.

a Mac app that replaces my Shottr + TextSniper + PixelSnap workflow

I’m the developer of Longshot, a Mac app built for people who work with screenshots all the time and want more than just basic capture.

Problem
I wanted one tool that could handle screenshot annotation, pinning, OCR, scrolling capture, screen measurement, and screen recording in one place, instead of switching between multiple apps for different parts of the workflow.

Compare
I really like apps like Shottr, TextSniper, and PixelSnap. They’re all excellent tools, and each one is focused on doing a specific job well.

Longshot is my attempt to bring those workflows together into a single app:

- Shottr-style screenshot capture and annotation
- TextSniper-style offline OCR
- PixelSnap-style screen measurement

On top of that, Longshot also includes:

- pin screenshots on the desktop
- vertical / horizontal / 360° scrolling screenshots
- step annotations, blur, highlight, arrows, and other editing tools
- QR / barcode recognition
- screen recording for region, window, or app

So if your current workflow involves multiple screenshot utilities, Longshot is designed as a more integrated all-in-one alternative.

Pricing
Free to download. Pro is available as subscription or one-time purchase:

[App] Stem Studio: Extract Vocals, Instrumentals, and Drums locally using AI (Early Access Lifetime Access $9.99)

[Live Demo: https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=T-EiNkeSLK0](https://preview.redd.it/k3qbqanntpyg1.png?width=1430&format=png&auto=webp&s=7f75f346e738a3ee773e0f2611e15fa6bd34ea3d)

Hi r/macapps,

I'm the developer of **Stem Studio**. I wanted to build a tool for Mac that handles high-quality audio separation without needing cloud uploads or monthly subscriptions.

**What is this?**

If you have ever wanted to create an **acapella** or an **instrumental** from a song, this is the tool for you. It uses AI to split any audio file into "stems"; the individual tracks like drums, bass, piano, and vocals; so you can use them for remixes, karaoke, or practice.

**\[Problem\]** Most AI separators today are cloud-based. You have to upload your private files to a server, wait in a queue, and usually pay a monthly "subscription tax" or buy "credits" just to process a few songs. It is slow, invasive, and gets expensive quickly.

**\[Comparison\]**

* **Vs.** [**LALAL.AI**](http://LALAL.AI) **/ Moises:** Stem Studio runs 100% locally on your Mac. Your files never leave your machine and there are zero monthly fees. It is optimized for the Apple Neural Engine (M1-M4), so it's much faster than browser-based tools.
* **Vs. Ultimate Vocal Remover (UVR):** UVR is great but the interface is very complex for casual users. I built Stem Studio to be a clean, native Mac utility that works in one click without needing to set up Python or technical environments.

**\[Pricing\]** I am currently in Early Access while I polish the final UI and add more features.

* **Cost:** $9.99 for Lifetime Access (this will move to $49.99 once we hit V1 later this month).
* **Site:** [https://withstemstudio.com/](https://withstemstudio.com/)

Best screen recording software for Pure Speed

Which app has the absolute least leg or system resources used when recording? I find that Screen Studio has been the overall best, but I'm always looking to see if anything is better speed. I don't need anything flashy, but something that can record and send to developers to help them.

Mactify: a native Spotify Connect client for Macs!

Hey everyone! Some of you might remember this post from a year ago that I made about Mactify (it's the #1 result when you Google "mac spotify connect client" which is crazy to me). For those of you that missed it, I made Mactify as a clean Spotify Connect client. I love to listen to music on my iPhone (love Headphone Accomodations, everything sounds much more full) but I hated that there wasn't an easy way to control playback from my Mac. I don't like to take out my phone when I'm working because if I do it's easier to get distracted. Previously, I used the standard Spotify app, but this was slow, bulky, eats up RAM, and sometimes stopped in the background.

Mactify aims to fix all of this! It's a clean, fast, and lightweight app built in SwiftUI. It supports macOS' Now Playing API (hello, media keys!), volume control (when Spotify itself does. For example, my iPhone doesn't), play/pause, rewind, forward. It also gives you access to seeking, repeat, shuffle, and even adding to playlists, liking songs, and seeing your queue!

It took me a while to get things published (I graduated, got busy that summer, and got busy when I moved into college. But during spring break, I finally submitted to App Store and got approved! After fixing up some bugs yesterday (Spotify changed their API access over the last year that I missed) I'm finally confident to show it to you all!

Unlike the Spotify app (the main other way to control playback) we only use around 50-60 mb of RAM, keeping things super lightweight! It's also a lot faster for things like play/pause when using media keys, as Spotify often gets backgrounded.

I wanted to keep this a lot cheaper than other apps, so Mactify is just $2.99! It's on the App Store today if you're interested.
