One thing I came up with recently is that all dating apps share one flaw: normal people usually are quick to find relationships while the deranged ones keep using them which leads to you being overexposed to this distilled mass of weird people.
For this reason I think you should also never take what's written in people's bios as an average girl/guy requirements and expectations, it is probably terribly skewed.
