A lot of people struggle to find reasons to better themselves and find it easier to find reasons why they cannot. It's so they can avoid dedicating the time into doing something. Take investing - it takes learning, patience, mistakes, risks and discipline. This is hard for a lot of people because it's uncomfortable and the idea of opening a no fees account and buying $10 a week of some index or total market ETF seems like a wasted effort because thinking on a 20 year timeline is beyond their scope.
