ok i just tried this crappy setup
and it's not so terribly suboptimal
(had to tuck a towel in between to insulate kettle-pot seam, so less steam leaks)
it seems that the only bottleneck is pot's cooling rate

Later I randomly met her on her way from school and asked to go to her apartment (to which she agreed for some outrageous reason). Talking was absurdly awkward at first, but then I shown her my anime notebook cover and we discussed our favorite anime for like two hours. Maybe you should try that.
