These ladies have embraced remote work, so can you!

So here are their stories.
Komal Shah

Komal has been working remotely for almost six years now, and is Co-Founder and Chief Knowledge Officer at SkillArbitrage. Before she joined us, Komal worked in three countries, led an IPO, and headed international legal teams.

But in 2016, she relocated to Mumbai with a three-year-old daughter and did not want to travel two hours every day in the notorious Mumbai traffic to a downtown law firm. She would rather spend those hours with her daughter. At the same time, she did not want to give up on work either.

Enter remote work, which has given her the perfect work-life balance and saved her precious time and energy, which she has devoted to her family and herself. By eliminating the need for travel, Komal feels she has the time and opportunity to grow both professionally and personally.

She still works 12 hours a day, and runs a team that spans across several countries, with her major clients based in Singapore, Dubai, UK and California.

Priyanka Karwa

Priyanka was the first remote employee to join us as we were scaling our startup in 2015. Having shifted to Mumbai post-marriage, Priyanka’s conservative family background meant that while she could step outside the home to work, she still had to fulfil all her family responsibilities. And she was finding it difficult to balance the two worlds.

After the birth of her first child, she herself did not want to leave the baby with paid caregivers. But as a workaholic, she also felt a deep need for a professional identity. When she connected with us, she explained that she was only looking for part-time remote work since her baby needed full-time care, so she joined as a customer care executive.

In the years since then, Priyanka has become a mother for a second time, and has worked her way up to the position of Director of Employability and Placement, helping thousands of our learners find domestic and international jobs, internships, and freelance work.

What’s more, she has used her example to inspire at least 10 other women in her neighbourhood who come from similarly conservative backgrounds, to seek a professional career. A passionate baker herself, she has even tutored home bakers who are now working from home and earning handsomely!

Sunayani Ganguly

A veteran of the advertising industry, Sunayani was no stranger to the everyday misogyny of a male-dominated profession. So much so that some of her workplaces didn’t even have separate washrooms for women.

Having worked for some of the biggest names in Indian advertising, Sunayani was also frustrated by what she saw as the inherent ageism of the industry, which makes a woman feel ‘old’ at 40, while her male colleague of the same age is probably seen as ‘experienced’.

Moreover, she also experienced the ‘gender pay gap’ which is prevalent in almost every country in the world, when she discovered that a junior male colleague whom she was asked to mentor was paid the same salary as her.

Incidentally, Oxfam’s ‘India Discrimination Report 2022’ pays special attention to the gender pay gap, revealing that women face bias both in recruitment and pay across the country.

Remote work has made her gender irrelevant, as far as Sunayani is concerned. Her worth is now measured solely by the work she does as Head of the Marketing Content team. Working remotely, she feels great about not having to use make-up, or to care what clothes she wears. Only the value she creates counts!

While producing daily marketing content such as ads and other communication, she feels the flexible work schedule also leaves her with time to pursue her passion for creative writing and poetry.

Yajnaseni Chakraborty

An experienced media professional and author who joined us in 2022, Yajnaseni was a regional editor with a reputable national media house when she lost her job overnight at the height of the pandemic.

Panic-stricken, the single mother realised she wouldn’t readily find another job, given the widespread freeze on recruitments thanks to the pandemic. So she took the freelance route and began working from home, though she wasn’t sure if she would find steady work since she had no guidance in this area.

By the time she joined us, however, working from home had become the new normal for her, as it had for most of the world, and she fits perfectly into our remote work culture as Senior Content Writer for the Marketing team, a role which helps her indulge her passion for writing.

Accustomed to an extremely high-pressure office environment, Yajnaseni finds the flexibility and pace of remote work thoroughly refreshing and peaceful. Plus, she can now spend more quality time with her son and catch up on her favourite pastime, reading.

You too can do what they have done!

Not just these four, SkillArbitrage has over 200 women from 6 different countries working as a team!

And what's more, we have helped over a thousand women till date find remote jobs and remote freelance work! Want to know their stories? Want to know how we can help you? Make sure you do not miss our live, online, free bootcamp!

As mentioned above, remote work gives you the FREEDOM you were always seeking.

FREEDOM from commuting

FREEDOM from leaving your children alone or with a paid help at home

FREEDOM from 9-5 drudgery

FREEDOM from office cubicles and office politics

FREEDOM from choosing between family and work

FREEDOM from being limited by a small local job market – because remotely you can work with the entire world

FREEDOM from low pay and toxic bosses

Remote work has given control back to women.

Men will never understand what a game changer remote work has been for women.

If you ask our colleagues, you will find that none of them want to go back to a brick and mortar workplace, because they can no longer be comfortable in that limiting environment. They have got used to the flexibility and comfort of remote work, and see no reason to return to their earlier routines.

Worldwide, thanks to the pandemic, remote work is here to stay.

Most working women hate public transport & rush hour.

Sometimes they don’t even have options & have to quit their jobs just because of this.

Remote work is the solution.

But there is no college/ university that teaches women how to get a remote job or freelance work.

We have helped thousands of women just like you to transit to remote work.

It does not matter:

👉 If you took a break from work to raise your children

👉 If you did not go to a top university

👉 Whether you want to work full time or part time

Reply ‘What Matters?" in the comments below👇 to know what actually matters if you want to get control of your life through remote work & freedom you deserve.

I quit my job after marriage. Can I work from home now?

It is a well known fact that women’s employment rates increased sharply during World War I (1914-18), from about 23% in 1914 to approx. 40% in 1918.

As a result, alongside managing the home, women began taking up tasks that had traditionally been performed by men.

With the rapid and worldwide growth of remote work and artificial intelligence (AI) driven jobs in the last few years, women in the 21st century may be poised for their very own WWI moment.

And the best part is, you don’t have to be a software engineer, data scientist or lawyer to benefit from international remote work. The stage is huge, you just need to play your part.

Reply ‘Show’ in the comments below👇 to take a look at the story of our student who had to take a break after her marriage but still made it possible for herself.

If you are thinking that is it possible for you as a woman to get some remote opportunities or jobs, here is the answer.

Let me share the experience in the words of one of our students, Sushmitha Arukalla, who lives in Hyderabad:
I am 2013 B.Tech grad of Visvesvaraya College of Engineering and Technology, and was working as a senior cabin crew at SpiceJet for more than six years till October 2020.

I used to earn about INR 1 lakh p.m. as a senior cabin crew at SpiceJet. I am also a soft skills trainer.

I had worked at SpiceJet for 6.5 years, and then I got married and the pandemic struck.

I had to take a break in my career and stop working.

However, soon afterwards, I was eager to restart work and tried to look for opportunities, but it was very difficult.

I wanted a work-from-home job as that would enable me to take care of my family as well.

I have attended 50-100 seminars looking for different career options but finally discovered a viable opportunity at a free bootcamp conducted by Skill Arbitrage, where they explained how one can do remote freelance work for international clients and even get full-time or part-time jobs.

In May 2023, I enrolled with one of the courses by Skill Arbitrage, and obtained guidance on how to get work from freelance platforms such as Upwork and Fiverr.

The team assisted me to build my freelance profile and write effective proposals. I sent out some proposals and was able to secure 2 work-from-home opportunities within one month itself. One was from a UK client for cold calling and the other was for an appointment-setting role with a US client.

I took up both jobs, but am more interested in the second one, and it pays me about USD 1600 per month.

It is a full-time remote job, and I work from home for 8 hrs per day from the comfort of my home, yet earn more than what I was last earning and also take care of my family. The client wants me to work for them for a long term now.

I am also using several AI tools to produce work of superior quality and discharge my responsibilities more effectively. Learning AI tools has been life changing for me and helps me to stand out in a global talent pool.

I have come a long way from where I started thanks to Skill Arbitrage and I am very happy. There is a long way to go ahead.

Anyone can do it if you learn skills, build your track record and do outreach. Competition is very low and Indians have a massive cost advantage.

Also, it does not matter if you do not have pro-level skills, as you can learn how to use AI properly and deliver great results for your clients.”

She is not the only one doing this.

Your time to shine as an AI-powered superwoman professional

Only fools say that AI will take away our jobs.
The fact is, AI will take away THEIR jobs & you will massively increase YOUR income with AI.

How

Until now, you needed specialised knowledge & a degree from a high-profile institution to earn well. AI is making this redundant very quickly.

But there are things AI cannot do. Those are matters of human judgement, sensibilities & trust.

For eg. A specialist writing for years, hardly has any knowledge advantage, thanks to AI. But they may still have a better understanding of what readers like, what they want to pay for, what they share with friends, etc.

Combine questions of judgement & sensibility with AI & you can’t touch them.

The super-professionals led by women are coming. Want to be one of them?

Reply "Show More" in the comments below👇 to know how AI will change the world for women like you & how we can make you a super professional this weekend.

How AI combined with your judgments and sensibilities can change everything?

You can use AI not only to write but you can now also design or create illustrations.

You can turn the text you wrote into a screenplay as smoothly as a 10 years experienced screenwriter. You can then get a video made with AI in 10 minutes.

You can write the social media posts you will need to promote the video using AI, and the outcome will be better than that provided by 90 percent of social media managers.

You can even write an HR Handbook just as someone with 10 years of HR experience would do. Perhaps even better.

You can even create an operational handbook as a six-sigma black belt in operational excellence would perhaps do, and you will do it faster using AI.

Professionals will have to do a lot of extra value add, because the non-value add work is now gone.

Now you can look at this situation as some kind of dystopia. Or you can learn to use AI so that you can do all these tasks and become the boss to all of these professionals.

You can be the dream hire for many startups – an all in one business growth manager. A multi-talented, AI-powered, turbo generalist.

How is that for career growth? Hard to believe but exciting? Want proof?

You do not need to learn how to code AI or write algorithms. You don’t have to learn tech – just as you did not learn any tech to use Google search.

Yet, there are still people who can use Google search to find relevant information and those who can’t.

Similarly, there are people who can use AI to get stuff done faster and those who cannot, and so complain about how AI is no good. Super-powered professionals will drive the business growth of the next decade and beyond.

Do you want to be one of them?
