I really wish they made the show into novels

I really wish they made the show into novels. 1-2 Novels per seasons. Reading is slowly becoming my favourite source of entertainment and i feel it could be a great way to enjoy Lost.

I got to hear Terry O’Quinn yell “Don’t tell me what I can’t do!” in person. Life complete.

Finally watched Getting Lost

Finally got round to watching it since I didn’t when it came out, and honestly I thought it was pretty terrible. What is the general consensus on it? Don’t get me wrong I can clearly see that there was a lot of love behind it, but I found myself and my girlfriend just constantly saying “who the FUCK is this random guy!!!!!!”. Like, you’ve literally got half the cast, and you’re devoting 2/3 of the screen time just for some random guy to tell you about how he loves the show. Like, as much as I appreciate and relate to being a fan of the show, I do not need a documentary about random fans of the show. A little bit is fair enough, since the fandom is such a huge part of the show, especially with the fans who actually contributed a lot, but most of the documentary is just random people talking about their love for the show. Like, that’s nice, but I honestly couldn’t give a fuck. That’s what the Internet is for. This is a documentary about Lost and there’s no new insight or information, and most of the cast members barely get screen time just so we can get another segment of some millennial talking about how they went to Hawaii. I respected the emotional parts, but also where was the dedication to, for example, Mira Furlan? Honestly some of it felt a bit disrespectful to the show, despite the clear love from the people who made it. Such a huge wasted opportunity and I kind of wish I didn’t watch it. There were things to enjoy about it, but I felt it was mostly just a wank-off of people who enjoyed the show and their mates.

It might be a luke warm take, but I think Shannon gets the worst rap and doesn't deserve it.

Season 2 Episode 6 really delved into this. She wasn't originally a cold spoiled b*tch. She was a soft baby girl™️ who got shafted by her step mom. She tried to be successful and wanted to make it on her own. She asked her step mom for the money that was literally supposed to be hers from her father's life insurance or anything that he would have left to her. Step mom was absolutely wrong on this. She even told Boon that she didn't want his money or a handout, but just some time to let her find her footing so she could afford rent and get a job somewhere.

Also in this episode, she's the only character besides Michael who is looking for Walt, and she doesn't even know what happened on the raft. She just knows she saw him (or his projection) and is determined to find him and bring him back to safety. She says he is alone and lost out there and she's not going to let him stay that way.

Lest we forget that scene before Walt leaves on the raft, and he gives Vincent to Shannon to help her deal with her grief, and Shannon is so taken by this act of kindness because almost no one else has truly tried to connect with her and feel her grief with her. Even Sayid treats her like a head case of grief and does not address her eye to eye on the moment. He's more like "you're grieving and you need time". Walt just straight up is like "my dog helped me when my mom died." I think Shannon appreciated and felt the honesty there. Anyone who has lost someone close to them knows the difference between common condolences and true connection and bonding over said loss.

I wish they could have done even just a little more with Shannon's story because she was making strides of character development before her untimely end.
