(Spoiler) John in the frozen chamber

Episode 5 iirc, was having my XX rewatch of the season and I realized I couldn't figure something out. WHEN, in history, does the scene take place when John turns the wheel, assisted by Christian? I can't figure out if it's in the past or in the future. The chamber looks sealed, which would drive me thinking it's in the past, but the speech from "Christian" makes it sound like it's from a close future (cause he knows so much about what's happening)

Episode Three of my hypothetical LOST Season 7 is done. This is where LOST fans would start arguing.

**LOST — Season 7, Episode 3: “NO ONE IN CHARGE”**

For anybody seeing one of these posts for the first time: I’m writing a hypothetical ten-episode continuation of LOST, set roughly twenty years after The End and The New Man in Charge. I’m treating it as a writing experiment: if somebody handed me LOST and told me I had to make Season Seven, what would I actually do?

The whole season is already structured, and once I post an episode, it stays locked. I’m not rewriting earlier episodes around Reddit reactions. I want people to be able to read it sequentially and have theories, objections, assumptions and arguments before they know where any of it is going.

Episode One was intentionally big \- the kind of premiere that has to convince you LOST has somehow started again. Episode Two pulled inward - smaller, more character-focused, more jungle, more like the scale of an ordinary early-season episode.

Episode Three is where I start fucking with things.

This is probably the point where I stop spending as much energy proving that a continuation of LOST could exist and start doing the things I would actually want a continuation of LOST to do.

And I suspect this is the first episode where some people are going to really love a choice I make while somebody else reads the exact same thing and goes “absolutely fucking not.” Good. That sounds fun to me.

There are a few fairly substantial swings in this one. Not necessarily in the sense of giant mythology reveals or returning-character fireworks. More in the sense of taking seriously what it would mean for roughly twenty years to have passed since we last saw this world - and then actually allowing those twenty years to have changed things. Some of my answers are probably going to seem exciting. Some may seem alarming. At least one is intentionally kind of ridiculous.

And I fully expect people to disagree about which is which.
The part that especially interests me is that I don’t think everybody’s first reaction will necessarily survive the season. Somebody who loves an idea introduced here may feel very differently about where it eventually leads. Somebody who hates it may eventually realize I was setting up something very different from what they thought they were looking at. Or maybe you’ll hate it now and still hate it when the season is over. That’s fair too.

I’m not saying that in a “keep watching, I promise it’ll make sense” way. Everything in Episode Three is supposed to work as Episode Three. If something thrills you, bothers you, seems suspicious, seems stupid, seems brilliant, or make you completely certain you know what I’m doing, that’s your reaction right now. I want that reaction.

One of the things I miss most about watching LOST while it was airing was exactly that: everybody having incomplete information, deciding what something meant anyway, arguing about it for a week, and occasionally discovering later that the argument itself had been based on a completely wrong assumption. I want to leave room for that.

There’s also something else in this episode I’ve been particularly excited to get to. For years I’ve heard LOST fans mention a certain kind of episode they always wished the original series had found an excuse to make. This isn’t exactly that episode. But I figured out a way to get surprisingly close. That’s all I’m saying about that. If you’ve spent enough time within the LOST fandom, there’s a decent chance you’ll know exactly what I mean when you hit it.

More broadly, Episode Three is probably the first installment where the twenty-year gap stops being background information and becomes something I can actually play with. What gets remembered? What gets misunderstood? What survives? What changes? What happens when something that once seemed impossibly important becomes
history? And what happens when people who weren’t there inherit stories from people who were?

If Episode One was the big “holy shit, we’re doing LOST again” episode, and Episode Two was me pulling inward and seeing whether this thing could actually settle down and behave like an episode of LOST, Episode Three is probably the first one where I feel like I’m really showing my hand about why I wanted to write a Season Seven at all. Not revealing the hand. Just showing you that I have one.

As before, once I post the episode, it’s locked. I’m not changing the already-posted season based on reactions beyond catching an actual typo or formatting mistake.

**LOST — Season 7, Episode 3: “NO ONE IN CHARGE”**

If this is the first one of these posts you’ve stumbled across, I’d strongly recommend starting at the beginning rather than reading anything about the later episodes first:

**Episode One — “We Have to Go Back”**

**Episode Two — “Because You Stayed”**

Just for fun: My better LOST ending ideas. (spoilers of course)

I loved LOST. But there are two big head cannon things I always think would have been better. Tell me if I'm crazy!

1. The flash alt of the final season: I LOVED the character's having to rediscover each other. It made for some powerful moments. I didn't love that the flash was indeed an afterlife kind of scenario (yes, I know they were not dead the whole time, just that the ending flashes were). I think a better alt flash would have been a branched timeline set off by Juliette setting off the bomb. The "present" would have remained the same, but as soon as someone died, or left the island, they wake up on flight 815 and make it to LA without crashing (same as the show). BUT instead of it being the afterlife, it is an ALT life, where BOTH the events of the island DID happen, but they also didn't. So as the character's find each other, they remember their entire adventure over their time on the island, how it changed them, who they loved etc. But then they are able to live their lives as changed individuals, having both personal arcs, and what they did on the island mattering.

2. The "present." First off I always thought the way John died was a mistake. They set up him mattering way too much in the show to just have him end up as the man in black, or the mythical bad guy in John's body. I thought in the end, John and Jack should have fought for the right thing to do the entire time, but in the end its JOHN who needed to stay behind and sacrifice to save the balance of good/evil on the island and Jack needed a full character arc of FINALLY letting go, not being the fixer for once, and having faith that John was there to do what he said. John's arc of course is knowing that while the island, gave him his life, and ability to walk, purpose, etc, it was ultimately leading to him giving his life right back to the island to save it. Tragic, but so much more meaningful than how his character was snuffed out.

Question I had while rewatching S4 finale

Aaron has been away from his mother Claire for a few days, and being a newborn surely can only eat breast milk. Shouldn’t this baby be starving?

Just a small detail I was thinking about. Thoughts?

Is "The Constant" technically a filler episode?

Think about it, This show starts an issue of Desmond'd mind moving across time that iit fixes withtin the episode, it is not mentioned again ever, Desmond and Penny meet in the season 4 finale,This episode is like a mini movie with tin the show but is overall very insignificant to the show's overall plot.

I can’t get over this…

When I watch the series, I understand what the show is trying to accomplished with Jack and Kate, but I don’t feel the actors had effortless physical chemistry.

Meanwhile Kate is effortless sensual chemistry with Sawyer. As actors their sexual chemistry is the most convincing on the show for me. that does not mean they were written as endgame but I can’t help but notice they must sizzle together.

Time jumps and we are meant to believe Sawyer and Juliet are this amazing stable couple but we didn’t see it transpire. It just was. What is worse is Sawyer is such a fan favourite that everyone was tired of seeing Kate choose him last so they got stoked to see him with anyone who chose him first, and forgot to ask if their romantic chemistry followed. I can understand where the story is going but the actors are too platonic in their chemistry for me. it doesn’t really scream raw.

It seems as if when this question is asked about chemistry people default to the characters and say “so and so made each other better,” when that isn’t what I’m getting at, I’m referring to what you can’t control which is physical tension. I can’t get over the fact that the strongest wasn’t found in any endgame pairing.

Shannon’s step mom 👿 (the WORST human being ever)

Talk about a heartless evil c u next Tuesday!!!!! The poor girls dad dies, she’s trying to make something of her life and CLEARLY needs the proper parental guidance and support aka funding to assist her and the RICH evil stepmother just cuts her off entirely!!!! Think about her life for a second. Because of that woman’s decision to not assist her in any way she ends up dating scum bag guys and ends up using her step brother as a 🏧 !!! Now I know what the rebuttal will be! She’s an asshole and makes awful choices. I cannot defend ANY of her poor choices. I’m merely posing the question how differently her life might have been if she got the proper parental help when she got accepted to dance school! 🤔

Would You Pay to See 'Lost' in a Cinema?

I know this will never happen, but if a nearby cinema decided to screen the entirety of 'Lost', let's say 3-4 episodes a night, let's say Fri-Sun, would you pay to attend?

Actually, the way these TV show screenings typically work, admission is free, but you are encouraged to buy snacks, and some cinemas like the Alamo Drafthouse will require that you purchase a food woucher.

I'd be there in a heartbeat.

I saw the series finale in a cinema, and it was a sublime experience. The first episode of 'Lost' is one of the best pilots of any TV show ever, and I'd LOVE to watch it on a big screen, especially with other 'Lost' fans.

Who’s down for a Lost rewatch?

It’s about time for my yearly Lost rewatch haha and I was wondering if anyone’s down to watch with me. We could binge watch ≥5 episodes each week. Figured it’d be more fun watching along with some people and discussing it as we go.
