Daniel Faraday
Maybe this had been discussed on here, but just made the connection on Faraday's name.

First time watching!
Just started lost about a week ago and I’m on ep 19 s1, been wanting to start this show for a while but due to lack of subscriptions at times I never got the chance but finally committing myself. Have been wanting to watch this show since middle school (2012-2015) as Kate’s (Evangeline lily) actual dad was my home economics teacher for 3 years! Any tips or recommendations when starting this show? I’ve heard people say not to get attached to characters and whatnot but always like to get insight from seasoned watchers:)

The Others & The Swan Station
Rewatching Lost and just finished season 2. It really makes me wonder why the “others” don’t have their people working in the swan station. Ben would have known its significance surely, why don’t they have people working there and rotate?

Finally i understand the ending and I feel so stupid 😭
I FINALLY understand the ending 😭
In the scene where Christian tells Jack, “The most important thing is the time you spend with these people,” and then says that “everyone dies sometime, some before you, some long after you”… it finally clicked for me.
I feel so stupid for not getting it the first time because it’s actually so simple 😭 Christian literally explained the entire ending and what happened to the Oceanic passengers.
So basically, they didn’t all die in the plane crash. They lived their lives after the crash, and eventually died at different points in time. The deaths were just shown to us out of order throughout the series. Some characters died earlier, like Boone and Shannon, then Charlie, and so on… while Jack was the last one to die.
And when Jack died, he entered that afterlife where they were all reunited and living out this alternate-looking version of their lives together. 🥹
The writers were basically telling us the truth the whole time, and I was sitting there like 🤡 trying to figure out what was going on.
I LOVE this ending so much more now that I finally understand it. 😭❤️

Remember how they called John Locke "an old man"?
and he was only 52... Matthew Fox now at 60 is older than John Locke and his "father" Christian Shepard who was 54. I don't think the "old man" fits Matthew Fox even now.

Please help me understand these concepts.
\- Where do I begin?
\- Who conceived or founded the Dharma Initiative?
\- Why didn't Dharma investigate the deaths of all its workers on the island or send replacements?
\- Why did Dharma continue sending packages?
\- How does Ben wield so much influence in the real world?
\- What does Charles Widmore want, especially since he already possesses so much after his exile?
\- What is the true nature of the island? Why is it the way it is, and where did the light come from? Jacob knew that the only way to kill him was for someone else to do so, yet he continued bringing people to the island. If he hadn't, the Man in Black wouldn't have succeeded in killing him and wouldn't be so close to leaving the island.
\- Why does the Smoke Monster's departure threaten the world? Was he going to wipe out the entire planet's population, for example? When the light went out, the Black Smoke lost all its power and became an ordinary human. How could it destroy the world without power?
\- Who built the giant statue?
\- What is the secret behind the power of the numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42?

Sayid is not talked about enough.
Sayid was my personal best character in the show, he was the smartest person and also the most resourceful when it came to combat.
what solidified is top one position for me was how he was able to catch on to Michael being compromised by the others.

Lost: The Return episode 2 “Nostalgia”
LOST: THE RETURN
Episode 2
COLD OPEN
INT. FACILITY DORM – DAY
The survivors gather around Rachel.
Everyone is waiting.
Rachel looks like she hasn’t slept.
She’s still trying to process what happened.
Silence.
Finally—
AJ
2004?
That’s what they said?
Rachel nods slowly.
RACHEL
They’re trying to convince me it’s 2004.
The room goes quiet.
SUMMER
So…
they’re suggesting time travel?
Rachel throws her hands up.
RACHEL
I don’t know what they’re suggesting.
I just know that’s what they’re telling me.
Summer shakes her head.
She walks toward the glass wall.
Outside the dorm, a lone technician sits watching security monitors.
Summer knocks on the glass.
The technician looks over.
She motions for him to come closer.
He doesn’t.
She raises her voice.
SUMMER
Hey!
What day is it?
Without emotion—
TECHNICIAN
February 11th, 2004.
Summer stares.
The technician goes back to work.
Summer slowly walks back into the dorm.
Everyone watches her.
She shrugs.
SUMMER
Yeah…
they’re definitely suggesting time travel.
A beat.
AJ
Is time travel even possible?
CHRIS
In theory…
yes.
Everyone turns toward him.
CHRIS (CONT’D)
Einstein’s theory of relativity predicts forms of time dilation.
There are also theoretical models involving wormholes…
closed timelike curves…
None of it’s been proven.
But…
the idea itself isn’t impossible.
Summer blinks.
SUMMER
Great.
We’re hanging our hopes on “theoretical.”
Rachel paces.
Thinking like a lawyer.
RACHEL
No.
Forget whether it’s possible.
Ask why.
What do they gain by convincing us it’s 2004?
AJ nods.
He’s been waiting for someone to ask that.
AJ
Exactly.
It’s part of a long con.
Nobody builds something this elaborate without an endgame.
Whatever they want…
depends on us believing the lie.
Chris folds his arms.
CHRIS
If it is a lie.
AJ smirks.
AJ
It’s a lie.
It has to be.
Rachel looks around.
RACHEL
Okay…
Then why 2004?
Why not 1998?
Why not 2035?
Why this year?
Silence.
Then—
Aaron speaks.
Quietly.
Matter-of-factly.
AARON
I was born in 2004.
Everyone turns.
Aaron doesn’t seem nervous.
If anything…
he seems comforted.
AARON (CONT’D)
We’re here because of me.
No one knows how to respond.
CUT TO BLACK.
LOST: THE RETURN
Episode 2 – “Nostalgia”
INT. FACILITY DORM – DAY
The survivors have broken off into small groups.
The room is quieter now.
Not peaceful.
Just quieter.
Rachel and AJ sit across from AARON, who remains on the edge of his bunk.
He seems strangely comfortable with all of this.
Rachel studies him.
RACHEL
So let me understand this.
You believe we’re actually in 2004.
Aaron nods.
RACHEL
And you believe we’re on an island.
Another nod.
RACHEL
And this island…
She searches for the right words.
RACHEL (CONT’D)
…calls to you?
Aaron looks at her.
AARON
Sometimes.
AJ leans forward.
AJ
What does that mean?
Aaron looks down.
AARON
I dream about it.
Rachel and AJ exchange a look.
AARON (CONT’D)
I’ve been dreaming about this place for years.
Rachel’s expression changes.
RACHEL
Years?
Aaron nods.
AARON
I see the island.
The trees.
The ocean.
Sometimes I see people.
Sometimes I hear voices.
AJ
And that’s why you got on the train?
Aaron nods.
AARON
I thought if I went west…
He looks toward the window.
AARON (CONT’D)
…I’d find it.
Rachel absorbs that.
RACHEL
You thought you’d find an island by taking a train to California?
Aaron looks at her.
AARON
I didn’t know how else to get there.
A beat.
Rachel leans back.
RACHEL
So you believe it’s 2004…
She gestures around the room.
RACHEL (CONT’D)
…and we’re on this island now?
Aaron looks directly at her.
AARON
Yes.
AJ studies him.
AJ
What’s your name, kid?
Aaron looks at him.
AARON
Aaron.
AJ nods.
AJ
Aaron.
It’s the first time we’ve heard the name.
AJ sits back.
AJ (CONT’D)
Okay.
He looks at Rachel.

⸻
INT. FACILITY DORM – LATER
The survivors have scattered throughout the room.
SUMMER sits with her ASSISTANT.
The assistant flips through her notebook.
Summer speaks quietly.
SUMMER
We’re expected to listen to the person who thinks we crashed a train onto an island and somehow ended up in the year 2004.
She looks around the room.
SUMMER (CONT’D)
Can these people get any weirder?
GABRIEL “GAB” REYES drops into the seat beside her.
Summer looks over.
Gab smiles.
GAB
You ever met Harrison Ford?
Summer stares at him.
GAB (CONT’D)
You know… at one of those big Hollywood parties?
Summer’s expression says absolutely not.
GAB (CONT’D)
I always thought he’d be cool to hang out with.
Summer slowly turns away.
She looks genuinely repulsed.
SUMMER
Why are you talking to me?
GAB
I don’t know.
A beat.
GAB (CONT’D)
Felt right.
Summer’s assistant tries not to laugh.
Summer shoots her a look.
The assistant immediately stops.
⸻
INT. FACILITY DORM – ANOTHER AREA
JI YEON approaches CHRIS and TORI.
Chris is still studying one of the papers they’ve been given.
JI
Excuse me.
Chris looks up.
JI (CONT’D)
How do you know so much about time travel?
Chris smiles slightly.
CHRIS
I’m a science teacher.
JI
A science teacher?
CHRIS
Elementary science teacher.
Tori looks over.
TORI
He’s a scientist.
Chris gives her a look.
TORI (CONT’D)
He’s done research. Worked on projects. A lot of them.
CHRIS
Yes.
He looks back to Ji.
CHRIS (CONT’D)
But I’m currently just a science teacher.
He extends his hand.
CHRIS (CONT’D)
Chris.
He gestures toward Tori.
CHRIS (CONT’D)
This is my wife, Tori.
Ji prepares to introduce herself.
JI
I’m—
CHRIS
I know exactly who you are.
Ji stops.
CHRIS (CONT’D)
You’re the CEO of Paik Industries.
A beat.
CHRIS (CONT’D)
You’re the reason we were even on the train.
Ji gives him a small, almost playful smile.
JI
Sorry.
CHRIS
No. Don’t be.
He stands slightly straighter.
CHRIS (CONT’D)
It’s an honor to be in your presence.
Ji smiles.
Tori rolls her eyes.
JI
Can I ask you something?
CHRIS
Sure.
JI
Could a train be turned into a time machine?
Tori answers immediately.
TORI
Yeah.
Chris looks at her.
TORI (CONT’D)
If you’re Doc Brown.
Ji smiles.
Chris doesn’t.
He looks at Tori.
CHRIS
That’s not scientifically—
Tori shrugs.
Tori smiles.
Ji actually laughs softly.
It’s the first genuine smile we’ve seen from her.
Chris finally relaxes.
CHRIS (CONT’D)
I guess… anything could be made into a vessel for time travel.
Ji studies him.
JI
Even a train?
CHRIS
If you had the technology.
JI
And if you didn’t?
Chris considers it.
CHRIS
Then you’d need to invent it.
Ji nods slowly.
Something about the answer bothers her.
She looks toward the other side of the room.
⸻
INT. FACILITY DORM – CONTINUOUS
Ji approaches her BODYGUARD.
He immediately straightens.
She speaks quietly in Japanese.
JI
どう思う?
He looks around before answering.
BODYGUARD
可能だとは思いません。
Ji looks toward the survivors.
JI
会社の中に誰かがいたとしたら?
The bodyguard understands.
JI (CONT’D)
The deal was too important.
She lowers her voice.
JI (CONT’D)
Someone inside the company could have sabotaged the train to stop it.
The bodyguard considers this.
Ji looks toward Chris.
JI (CONT’D)
And if they were experimenting with something they didn’t understand…
A beat.
JI (CONT’D)
What if they created something accidentally?
The bodyguard looks at her.
JI (CONT’D)
A machine.
A way to move through time.
She looks toward the window.
JI (CONT’D)
Wouldn’t that explain all of this?
The bodyguard doesn’t answer.
Ji looks back at him.
She doesn’t need him to.
⸻

The same FEMALE DOCTOR from earlier sits at a desk.
A medical technician prepares equipment nearby.
The doctor looks up.

Rachel freezes.
The doctor continues.

Rachel doesn’t know how to respond.
The doctor gestures toward the examination chair.
DOCTOR (CONT’D)
So tell me, Ms. Everett…

DOCTOR (CONT’D)
Are you more concerned with being correct…
The doctor looks directly into Rachel’s eyes.
DOCTOR (CONT’D)

Rachel’s expression changes.

The sound of a TRAIN begins beneath the scene.
CLACK.

INT. COURTROOM – DAY
Rachel stands before a jury.
Professional.
Confident.
In control.
RACHEL
Ladies and gentlemen…
The camera slowly pushes toward her.
FADE INTO RACHEL’S FLASHBACK.
Rachel exits the courthouse victorious.
Reporters swarm her.
REPORTER
Ms. Everett, prosecutors say today’s verdict doesn’t prove your client was innocent. How do you respond?
Rachel smiles.
RACHEL
Because proving innocence isn’t my job.
My job is making sure guilt is actually proven.
If there’s reasonable doubt…
then justice requires one verdict.
Whether people like it or not.
Another reporter asks—
REPORTER
So you’re comfortable defending people the public believes are guilty?
RACHEL
Everyone deserves a defense.
The burden has never been on the accused to prove they’re innocent.
It’s on the State to prove guilt.
She thanks the reporters and walks away.

INT. COUNTY JAIL – ATTORNEY VISITATION ROOM – DAY
A television mounted high in the corner plays Rachel’s interview.
Across from it sits a man in an orange jail uniform.
Calm.
Patient.
Intelligent.
He’s already been arrested.
Already awaiting trial.
His current defense attorney sits across the table, shuffling through paperwork.
The attorney notices his client isn’t paying attention.
ATTORNEY
Are you listening?
The prisoner never takes his eyes off the television.
Rachel finishes speaking.
Silence.
Then—
The prisoner reaches over…
…closes the case file.
Looks directly at his attorney.
CLIENT
I’m going in a different direction.
The attorney frowns.
ATTORNEY
Excuse me?
CLIENT
You’re fired.
The attorney laughs.

He turns back toward the television.
Rachel’s image remains frozen on the screen.
A slow smile spreads across his face.

The doctor waits.

The doctor doesn’t hesitate.
DOCTOR
Because it is.
Rachel studies her.
RACHEL
I find that hard to believe.
The doctor says nothing.
RACHEL (CONT’D)
Because if it’s actually 2004…
Rachel leans forward.
RACHEL (CONT’D)

A beat.
RACHEL (CONT’D)
