Rule 3(1)(a), Rule 3(2)(b) & Rule 3A(2) of the IT (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules, 2021 – Suspension of Instagram account @zxy_.

My Instagram account @zxy_ (instagram.com/zxy_) was suspended by Meta without providing a clear, specific, or reasoned explanation for the action. I was not informed of the particular post, activity, or policy provision allegedly violated. I raised a grievance with Meta’s Grievance Officer requesting clarification and restoration, but the matter was not satisfactorily resolved within the applicable grievance-redressal period. As the platform has failed to provide an adequate resolution, I am approaching the Grievance Appellate Committee under Rule 3A of the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. I respectfully request the Committee to direct Meta to conduct a proper review and restore my account, or provide a clear and specific justification for the suspension.

I am invoking the ground for appeal because my Instagram account @zxy_ was suspended without a clear explanation identifying the specific content, activity, or policy provision allegedly violated. I approached Meta’s Grievance Officer seeking clarification and restoration, but my grievance was not satisfactorily resolved within the applicable period.

The lack of a specific and reasoned explanation has prevented me from properly understanding or responding to the alleged violation. I therefore seek intervention of the Grievance Appellate Committee under Rule 3A for an independent review of Meta’s decision.

I respectfully request the Committee to direct Meta/Instagram to conduct a proper review and restore my account if no valid violation is established, or alternatively provide a clear and specific justification for the suspension.
