Sarnath in Uttar Pradesh has now been inscribed on the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage List. It is the 45th entry from India into the List.

With 45 sites in the List, India ranks 6th globally and 2nd in Asia Pacific Region for the most number of World Heritage Sites. 196 nations have ratified the World Heritage Convention, 1972, the Ministry of Culture said.

Young squash player Anahat Singh created history on Saturday after she became the first Indian to clinch the World Junior Squash Championship title.

The 18-year-old did so after clinching a 3-0 (11-3, 11-7, 11-9) win over Ruqayya Salem of Egypt in the final of the tournament that took place in Canada.

Lok Sabha Updates: Jitendra Singh Introduces Anti-Paper Leak Bill Amid Opposition Ruckus

Union Minister Jitendra Singh introduced on Monday the Bill to amend the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, proposing more stringent laws to address paper-leak incidents. The Bill was tabled around 12 pm, after the Lok Sabha resumed following adjournment amid ruckus by the Opposition. The legislation is expected to be debated for eight to 10 hours, with the NDA fielding Bansuri Swaraj and Tejasvi Surya to lead the discussion, as per reports.
