In a viral clip from a Tel Aviv café on March 15, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu jokingly debunked social media rumors that he’d been assassinated – saying he’s “dying for coffee” and even asking viewers to count his fingers.

But the video itself quickly became controversial. Some online commentators – including Elon Musk’s AI assistant Grok – claimed the footage was a “100% deepfake,” reigniting conspiracy theories.
