Iran’s powerful Assembly of Experts has elected Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of the slain supreme leader Ali Khamenei, as the country’s next Supreme Leader, according to informed sources cited by Iran International and the New York Times.

Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in an Israel-US joint strike, will be buried in the city of Mashhad, the Fars news agency said.
