As per media reports the Ambanis splurged an astounding £120 million or approximately Rs 1259 crore on the pre-wedding festivities of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant.

The guest list included from Rihana to Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg. The who's who of Bollywood were also attending and performing at the ceremony. Not only India's richest but even average Indians spend more money on India's wedding economy than on education.

A few days ago we informed our viewers about a new report by the Jefferies, an investment banking and capital market firm. The report highlighted how Indians spend nearly double on weddings compared to what they spend on education.

#MintCharts | The 2021-22 and 2022-23 reports of the Annual Survey of Unincorporated Sector Enterprises, released by the government last week, show that the informal sector shrank both in terms of output and #Workforce during the seven years ended 2022-23.

The sector had 111.3 million workers in 2015-16, a sharp rise from 108 million in the 2010-11 edition of the report. But as the informal sector shrank in size in the seven years that followed, the number fell to 109.6 million by 2022-23.

This was chiefly due to a decline in the size of the informal #Manufacturing sector, while trade and other services saw increases.
