AASTU Arch Club visited Zigzag Space at Bisrate Gabriel (International Tennis Club building), a multidisciplinary studio founded by Alebel Desta Consulting Architects & Engineers. We were privileged to be guided personally by architect Alebel Desta, who toured us through every corner of the space, held oneโ€‘toโ€‘one discussions, answered our questions, and shared valuable professional and life experiences. We learned and gained practical insights into multidisciplinary design, modelโ€‘making techniques, project workflow, and professional practice plus fresh inspiration and tangible advice to apply in our own projects. The visit deepened our understanding of collaborative studio work and motivated us to push our design thinking further. Huge thanks to Alebel Desta and the Zigzag team a mustโ€‘visit for every architecture student and practitioner.

The AASTU Arch Club recently organized a two-day orientation program for freshman students at Addis Ababa Science and Technology University.

Our team was honored to represent the Department of Architecture and introduce new students to the world of design. We shared how diverse, creative, and impactful this field can be and hopefully inspired a few future architects along the way.

Overall, it was a rewarding experience and a great reminder of why we love what we do.

Arch Club is excited to welcome its new members!

During our recent weekly meeting, Arch Club had the pleasure of welcoming its newest members. The administrative team introduced the club, outlining its goals, activities, and the various roles and opportunities available.

Following that, the new members shared their backgrounds and what inspired them to join. Many also expressed their appreciation for Arch Clubโ€™s architecture entrance exam study sessions at AASTU, which helped them prepare and succeed in joining the department.

The session naturally evolved into an open and engaging conversation about architecture student life. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to connect, exchange ideas, and start building a sense of community within the club.

Weโ€™re thrilled to have these creative minds on board and canโ€™t wait to see what weโ€™ll create together!
