The ET-302 Memorial Park, covering 300,000 to 500,000 square feet, was designed by Alebel Desta Consulting Architects and Engineers, with Alebel Desta serving as the lead architect. The park honors 157 individuals by integrating the narrative of the flight's final moments into its design. Visitors are guided along paths to the crash site, burial ground, and reflection areas, harmonizing with the surrounding farmland.

The design is based on three principles: absence (loss), revelation (the crash story), and healing (solace). A main pathway recounts the flight’s last moments, leading to four earth-red concrete structures that symbolize the lives lost. The burial ground, a 28-meter sacred circle, encourages quiet reflection.

Central to the site is the main monument with four sculptural forms representing different continents, accompanied by plaques for private contemplation. The Healing Monument symbolizes resilience, while the amphitheater accommodates over 360 people for community events.

Yesterday's closing program was a success, highlighting the many achievements of the AASTU Arch Club during the 2017 EC year. We delivered over 10 lectures, welcomed the second-year students during freshman orientation, and provided training for new students interested in joining the Architecture department. One of our biggest accomplishments was offering scholarships to three students for interior design training through a collaboration with Hanic Interior Institutions. We also collaborated with other clubs and achieved numerous goals. During the program, we recognized the president of the AASTU Architecture Club Mr. Fisha Gesit for his remarkable contributions and hard work.
