We can't believe how quickly we got funded....that's insane!! Leading up to this, it's been the hardest thing we've ever done and you cheered us on, you helped us turn a dream into a reality and validated an idea, and for that, we cannot thank you enough. ❤️

There's still a ton of work to do, and we've already started production. DDR's garage has been taken over and turned into a production space and we might even need to hire production help soon. I'll post some behind the scenes.

I wanted to share a quick update with what we're working on currently!

We are testing and wrapping up the RavelightOS over the air software updater in preparation for getting Ravelights out the door. We've also finished the release version of RavelightOS as of last night, and have nearly completed our first batch of Ravelights hardware. We are full steam ahead!

Ravelight OTA Updater: This is how you will update your Ravelights to get new features and improvements, such as new modes and optimizations like extending battery life. We recently got a new feature working that allows you to update several Ravelights at once!

You will be able to update Ravelights and receive new, free features directly from a browser without downloading anything.

We’re going to start a RavelightsOS beta group, where you can chat with us, share your ideas for new features, and we’ll share unreleased ideas and get your feedback. Let us know if this is something you’d be into.

Ravelights Updated Production Plan & In Person Showcase

Hi friends,

This past weekend, for the first time ever, we got to show off Ravelights V2 in person. We built a booth, lit it with Ravelights, and demoed music reaction and Ravelights Group Sync features. It was amazing to see it all come together! With one button, people were able to change the color of our whole booth using Group Sync.

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and at several points, we had a line at our booth. Seeing the excitement for Ravelights in person was surreal and inspiring. If you were there, thank you for coming by and showing your support! 💙

What’s Next for Ravelights:

We’ve nearly quintupled our original funding goal with 13 days still left in our campaign! The response to Ravelights has been incredible.

Because of huge demand, Ravelights is kicking off production early. We’ve decided to borrow a small amount of funds to get our main production run started right away (since Kickstarter funds haven’t been disbursed yet). We’re also doubling our next batch size to 500 units to meet demand and make sure Ravelights reaches all of you as soon as possible.

Just a Heads-Up!
This isn’t a sales push—just a friendly heads-up! If you’re thinking about getting your own Ravelights, now is the best time. Our backlog grows daily, and there will be a lot of catching up before we can ship to the general public via our website.

Just a quick update for you:

There are only 4 days left for Ravelights!

We’ve entered our final countdown. This will be your last chance to pre-order your own Ravelights before we close. (We don’t yet know for how long.)

This has been such a wild ride so far, and we’re sad it’s coming to an end. We are, however, really looking forward to sharing this project with you in physical form.

We also want to directly ask for your feedback once things start rolling—you can have a real impact on the Ravelights project.

Ravelights were built for creative expression

For our last day, we changed the cover photo and went full furry on front page Kickstarter. Zero shame!

And that's done! What an absolutely insane month!

Ravelights was a project we've been working on for a few years, for ourselves. When we posted it to Kickstarter, we weren't sure if we were going to hit our $7500 goal. We honestly didn't think anyone would even care and it would be one of those things where we look back and go, welp, at least we tried.

And then we hit publish on Kickstarter...and hit our goal in minutes. And it didn't stop. We made front page Kickstarter for gadgets and the enthusiasm for Ravelights exploded. It was so surreal. Our very furry Kickstarter video got over 60,000 views.

We finished our campaign with 162 backers, and $42,941 in funding.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Thank you for being here and thank you for believing in us.


What's Next

For you: In the next little while, we will send you the backer survey so we know where to ship your Ravelights, among other things. Hang out with us here for more intimate & frequent updates.

For Us: We are working non stop to gear up for everything. We'll keep you updated as much as we can. It takes a lot of work to run something like this, and we are very thankful for the smart people we have helping and giving us advice. We will let you know as soon as we have the next update.

This weekend, we are starting our next batch of Ravelights with what we have in the warehouse while more parts arrive. The internal structure and admin stuff is getting built too. We have an accountant now too. Yay!


We Are Pausing Orders

We need time to process Kickstarter and get your Ravelights out the door first, so we are pausing orders.

We are also probably going to be a bit quiet on socials for the next little while. When we are ready, we will launch our brand new website and return to normal. If you missed out, we've enabled a few late pledges on Kickstarter, but those will be at the back of the que.
