Hello, Cornflakes here. Sitting in a metal tube (airplane) thinking, and wanted to share some thoughts just for fun.

Realized that my friends and I spent literal years on these things, and now finally it’s time to share them with the world and holy, it’s the scariest thing ever.

So many questions. What if they don’t work? What if nobody cares? What if *insert bad thing here* happens?

We talk about it a lot. So we’ve decided to stop overthinking and just full send Ravelights into the world and just see what happens.

With that, I just wanted to say thank you for being here and showing us your support. Truly.

I’m really excited to show you what we’ve been working on, and get our nerdy little project into hands to play with. We think they are really cool, and we hope you do too.

With Ravelights, you can create pairing groups, so you can sync your paw Ravelights to your wall mounted Ravelights.

A quick and dirty demo of the Ravelights multi layered music reaction mode.

It uses both spectrum and decibel detection with a cocktail of custom math and processing, which took us a few years to get right. It still has some tuning to go, but once it’s finished, it will be a one of a kind.

In V2, we upgraded the CPU in the circuit board for the Ravelights. We now use two cores, one to process live data from the microphone, and the other one to manage and interpret it. The V2 Ravelight CPU is about 500 times faster than V1 lol. We also have a lot more ram in this chip, which lets us store lots of audio data in something called a ring buffer, so the Ravelight is able to calibrate itself to loud and quiet environments on it’s own, pretty quickly. So it can respond to both whispering and a loud rave the same way.

We’ll share a blog post in the future that goes in depth into the engineering and math behind it, just for fun.

Getting ready to film our Kickstarter video very soon! Been working on it for a few months with some very smart people. It’s going to be more of a short story and there will be furries in it, in mainstream Kickstarter.

A bit nervous for that but hey, let’s see what happens. I’ll post some behind the scenes when we get there!
