The stories we are told as children do, undoubtedly, mark us for life.
They are often stories of dark and terrible things, and we are usually told them just before the lights are turned out and we are left alone; but we love them. We love them when we first hear them, and even when we are grown, and think we have forgotten them entirely, they never lose their power over us.
-Skin Lane, Neil Bartlett

My quality of life has decreased considerably after math adopted all those prefixes. I need pure, unadulterated math with unclear real life applications.

G12- Mathematics- text book @Ethiopian_Digital_Library.pdf
Book Review:
Highly recommend. A classic. One of those books they force on you in highschool and you get nostalgic for in adulthood. The writing is a little dry and you'll lose the plot if you aren't familiar with the previous books in the series but it's alright.

There is a place, another world, the happy seat of some new race called Man. And Heaven’s high arbitrator sit secure
In his own strength, this place may lie exposed. The utmost border of his kingdom, left
To their defense who hold it: here perhaps some advantageous act may be achieved by sudden onset,
either with Hell fire to waste his whole creation, or possess
all as our own, and drive as we were driven, the puny habitants, or if not drive, seduce them to our party, that their God may prove their foe, and with repenting hand abolish his own works.
This would surpass common revenge, and interrupt his joy in our confusion, and our joy upraise in his disturbance, when his darling sons hurled headlong to partake with us, shall curse their frail original, and faded bliss, faded so soon.

The head of all mankind, though Adam's son.
As in him perish all men, so in thee,
As from a second root, shall be restored
As many as are restored, without thee none.
His crime makes guilty all his sons; thy merit,
Imputed, shall absolve them who renounce
Their own both righteous and unrighteous deeds,
And live in thee transplanted, and from thee
Receive new life. So Man, as is most just,
Shall satisfy for Man, be judged and die,
And dying rise, and rising with him raise
His brethren, ransomed with his own dear life.
So heavenly love shall outdo hellish hate,
Giving to death, and dying to redeem,
So dearly to redeem what hellish hate
So easily destroyed, and still destroys
In those who, when they may, accept not grace.
Nor shalt thou, by descending to assume
Man's nature, lessen or degrade thine own.
Because thou hast, though throned in highest bliss
Equal to God, and equally enjoying
God-like fruition, quitted all, to save
A world from utter loss, and hast been found
By merit more than birthright Son of God,
Found worthiest to be so by being good,
Far more than great or high; because in thee
Love hath abounded more than glory abounds;
Therefore thy humiliation shall exalt
With thee thy manhood also to this throne:

Good things never last. Nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING equals the wonder that came with these apps from my childhood.

Things that self- sabotage masquerades as: reminder for me and you.
1. Humility- oh I just don't want to take the spotlight away from people.
2. Existential crisis- I'm not throwing away opportunities because I feel unworthy of them, it's because nothing ultimately matters and life is a pointless string of sufferings.
3. Biding your time- oh it's just not the right time for me.
4. Learning- I'm not qualified to do it yet. But don't worry, I will be in due time, until then, I'll defer my life indefinitely.
5. I'm too old- I'm just gonna assume I'm past my prime although I felt like that even when I was 13.
6. I'm not a materialist- I try to make up for other people's consumerist lavishness by sacrificing my access to basic necessities, or a better standard of living.
7. Lack of superficial success equals internal contentment- I believe that being successful on the outside takes away from my internal wealth.
8. Loyalty- I should be as successful as the least successful person I love.(Plug in whatever your metrics of success constitute).
9. Authenticity- I'm only authentic when I'm stripped down naked.
10. Self-sufficiency- I don't need help or weatherproof structures in place to get up on my feet.
11. Spirituality or enlightenment- I'm on the quest for things much greater than petty "successes".
I believe most of these things are good and necessary. We need to shred our securities and retreat into the wild from time to time BUT being wed to them our whole lives is just one big campaign against ourselves and the people that care about us.
