"Take some more tea," the March Hare said to Alice, very earnestly.
"I've had nothing yet," Alice replied in an offended tone, "so I can't take more."
"You mean you can't take less," said the Hatter; "it's very easy to take more than nothing."
- Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Caroll

"I'm glad they've begun asking riddles—I believe I can guess that," she added aloud.
"Do you mean that you think you can find out the answer to it?" said the March Hare.
"Exactly so," said Alice.
"Then you should say what you mean," the March Hare went on.
"I do," Alice hastily replied; "at least—at least I mean what I say—that's the same thing, you know."
"You might just as well say," added the Dormouse, which seemed to be talking in its sleep, "that 'I breathe when I sleep' is the same thing as 'I sleep when I breathe!'"
Fun way to teach p → q and q → p are different things.

Caved in today and enabled YouTube because I need to procrastinate on starting a major assignment due Friday. Missed that devil!

I remember having dreams. Lots of them rendered unattainable the minute I came down from my high. The minute I’m made to see how tedious it is in actuality, how much innocence it requires to see the faintest and most unpolished version of those dreams realized.
Naïve child turned sad teenager and disillusioned young adult. Prone to apathy and disappointment. However, I have moments of euphoria as well. Rare occasions of detachment when I am able to pull myself out of the depths of consciousness. Minutes of complete bliss, untainted by shame or constant guilt.
Glances behind your shoulders… those are the worst kind of emotional torments. Haunting oneself with memories of sin that one can never take back.
Sometimes, I justify my wrongs. A life-saving cowardice. At my best, I confess, purging myself. An upward humiliation. When I lose the plot, I indulge in penitent self-destruction. Chasing away anyone who shows a bit of kindness to me; after all, it’s undeserved.
I am a riddle. Even to myself.

My nights are boulders that I push up the hill of monstrous things that "shouldn’t concern me". Columbian neck-ties, the Menendez brothers, eugenicists, serial killers, rapists…you name it, I push it. And push it some more. It’s unmoving, unyielding.
My days ...déjà vu’s, hazy smokes of exhaustion, or what remains of my days after my obsessive ruminations, subtle rages and inexplicable gloom. I exaggerate my plight, of course. If only to substantiate the insubstantial.
I wish I could pull out my brain and squash it like the doughy pest it is!
It doesn't help that I spend the bulk of my time seeking after obscure interests that nobody else but me seems to care about.
How did we get here? Perhaps, this ain't no place for heart-to-hearts. Is it wiser to be vulnerable and open up yourself for attack, or feign strength hoping to be made strong eventually? But don't be disheartened for the Lord in His abundant mercy shall quiet our raging minds. Yours and mine. And mine. And mine.

A DREAM OF DEATH
I dreamed that one had died in a strange place
Near no accustomed hand,
And they had nailed the boards above her face,
The peasants of that land,
Wondering to lay her in that solitude,
And raised above her mound
A cross they had made out of two bits of wood,
And planted cypress round;
And left her to the indifferent stars above
Until I carved these words:
She was more beautiful than thy first love,
But now lies under boards.
-William Butler Yeats
