Brief summary:
Download Xiaomi's official fastboot package, unpack it, then connect the device to the PC in fastboot mode and execute the following command:

fastboot flash partition:0 ./images/gpt_both0.bin
fastboot flash partition:1 ./images/gpt_both1.bin
fastboot flash partition:2 ./images/gpt_both2.bin
fastboot flash partition:3 ./images/gpt_both3.bin
fastboot flash partition:4 ./images/gpt_both4.bin
fastboot flash partition:5 ./images/gpt_both5.bin

Note: For safety reasons, the author recommends not flashing partition:4 on the first try, but only flashing partition:{0,1,2,3,5}. If the problem cannot be solved, try flashing all (0-5).

This can solve the problem that the device cannot boot and can only enter fastboot mode even installed Xiaomi's official fastboot package.
