I didn’t think I would do another Low-Buy so soon — having an expanded budget has been great but it’s also a double-edged sword. I found myself spending way too much time browsing, thinking of what to buy, then buying them… basically all the behaviours I was trying very hard to curb with my Low Buy Year last year. And I do think it’s a coping mechanism to stress and poor mental health, and shopping is a distraction rather than a cure. So in an effort to solve the root of my problems rather than distract myself away from them, I’m setting a Low Buy month for myself.

Hi everyone! 😁 Just a quick question to those who follow my monthly budget posts — do you usually read them on my blog, or on Substack?

I’m asking because my blog’s domain registration is ending soon, and I’m on the fence about renewing it because my experience with Wordpress (where my blog is hosted) hasn’t been great so far. I find the platform confusing and clunky, and I think the formatting (heading style, paragraph alignment, etc.), on my blog is not that great either. Substack is much easier to use and the formatting looks much better.

But I know there are benefits to having your own domain name (URL), so I’m thinking of keeping the domain name but linking it to Substack instead of a separate blog. Whether or not I’m able to execute this before my domain expires is another thing 😂

What do y’all think?
