Two weeks ago, I got invited by the special adviser on education, youth and sports for the Apapa LGA, Dr. Mike Egbayelo, for this two-day career summit.

The moment I saw the topic and the audience, it was a big yes.

Topic - Careers Of The Future and Global Employability Skills

When he told me students in their penultimate and final year of secondary school would be the main target, my joy went up a notch.

Why?

According to the United Nations, a youth is 15-24, and for the African Union, 35 is the cutoff age.

More often than not, the 15-19-year-old youths are not considered in Africa as many would instead organise events for University students or recent graduates when it comes to the subject of employability skills.

Alas!

I consider it late at that point.
