ENCOUNTER and SERVICE are my words for today. Today, I want to talk about these two words.
My first ENCOUNTER with
Mrs A. Ibukun Awosika in 2019 changed the course of my life. In 2019, I was at a point where I needed clarity.
I was looking for an older version of me. I needed someone who had walked the part to give clarity to certain issues that were critical to my trajectory.
When she decided to mentor a handful of women in 2019 June after Kemi Onabanjo my high school buddy put out her mentorship encounter with her, I was determined to be in the room with her. I was privileged to be selected.
That day, I sat right in front of the room. No back seat. (Picture 2). I paid attention to every word out of her mouth.
It's been 5 years, I still consider that encounter priceless. (Picture 1 Dec 10, 2023).

Now here is what happened. She said to us then, "Pay it forward". Here is what I did, I decided to build the biggest impact social enterprise for Africans I-Train Africa.
1 girl mentored who now trains thousands across Africa.
Now I took it is step further, I still pay it forward internally by SERVING.
Since 2019, I have volunteered at almost every single event LifeSeries has held.
I serve yearly because I truly believe that if one person could help me achieve the clarity that I need to be the woman who is now changing the world, then I will continually invest my time in serving to ensure this program that truly changes lives succeeds yearly.
By the way, dear person who has got no time to serve, you should truly evaluate. (Picture 3 and 4 is a Dec 2021 picture while I was serving).
Your leadership is only as good as your servitude.
Create time to serve, it keeps you grounded. The lessons you learn from serving are not the same you learn from leading. (Picture 5 was in Sept 2023 with other strong women who are also volunteers).
