If youβve ever used an optical character recognition (OCR) program, you know that scanning documents for text can often be hit or miss. If youβre a developer working on an app that's dependent on accurate text scanning, say for an expense report, hit or miss just wonβt cut it. In this project-based course, Carlos Rivera shows you how to use Amazon Textract to analyze scanned documents and convert them to text. Textract eliminates the complexity of having to train machine learning models from scratch to perform data capture tasks. And as Carlos points out, the program not only recognizes text, but it also considers the layout of the scanned document. Follow along with Carlos as he creates a serverless expense tracker that reads text from images using Textract, starting with the basic jargon of the program, through project implementation, and then implementing Textract.

If you think of a job interview like a test, wouldnβt it be good to go into the test knowing most of the answers? As with any test, a lack of preparation can cost you, and if youβre not prepared for an interview, it could cost you a job youβre otherwise qualified for. Interviewing is particularly important at the leadership/executive level, as there are far fewer opportunities the higher you rise. In this course, Sarah Johnston teaches you how to effectively prepare for an interview so that you can answer the most challenging and difficult questions. Sarah starts with pre-interview prep tips, like researching your audience so that you can build a strong rapport and avoid potential pitfalls. She then covers the most common types of questions asked in interviews and how to target your responses, and explains the importance of effective storytelling in your interview. Sarah also teaches effective ways to end an interview, as a last impression can be as important as the first impression.
