The Fifth AMC Symposium
Submission deadline: July 31st

Dear all,
This is just a quick reminder that the Fifth AMC Symposium will take place between the 7th and the 9th December 2026 at The University of Edinburgh. The call for papers is open until July 31st, so you have two weeks to submit your abstracts if you would like to present.

The theme of the symposium will be: Types of Evidence in Historical Linguistics

Our Invited Speakers are:

Chundra Cathcart (Zurich)

Terttu Nevalainen (Helsinki)

Sara Pacchiarotti (Ghent)

Jane Stuart-Smith (Glasgow)

David Stifter (Maynooth)

Rob Truswell (Edinburgh)

While we particularly encourage abstracts for regular talks and posters that engage with the key symposium theme, we also welcome abstracts on any topic in historical linguistics, including all language specialisms and sub-disciplines.

Дорогие коллеги,

В университете Франкфурта-на-Майне, где я сейчас преподаю, открыт набор в магистратуру по эмпирическому языкознанию (Empirical Linguistics), один из профилей в которой -- фонетический.

Это новая магистерская программа Института эмпирического языкознания (Institut für Empirische Sprachwissenschaft, https://www.uni-frankfurt.de/172792750/Empirische_Sprachwissenschaft?locale=en), преподавание целиком на английском языке.
Срок подачи документов истекает уже через две недели, 31 июля.
К сожалению, информации на сайте до сих пор мало, поэтому шлю очень краткое описание программы -- в приложении, а вот ссылка на информацию о подаче документов:

Dear colleagues,
We are excited to share the Call for Papers for our workshop at WOCAL 2027, “Object Marking in African Languages and Beyond: Agreement and Clitic Doubling,” which may be of interest to you and your students or colleagues.

The workshop will take place as part of the World Congress of African Linguistics – WOCAL 12, in Vienna, Austria, 7–10 July 2027. It focuses on object marking in African languages and beyond, especially its relation to agreement, clitic doubling and discourse. We invite formal, empirical, and experimental contributions on related topics. While the primary focus is on African languages, contributions on other language families are also welcome where they speak to the same issues.

We are very pleased that Michael Diercks from Pomona College will be our invited speaker.
