Instead of reaching for pharmaceutical remedies, here are five natural supplements you can take to help relieve allergy symptoms:

1. Trimethylglycine: Acts as a methyl donor to help downregulate allergic reactions.

2. Black cumin seed oil: Stabilizes mast cells, which produce histamine.

3. Quercetin: Is an antioxidant that naturally lowers histamine levels.

4. Nettle extract: Studies show that nettle extract can reduce the inflammation that causes allergy symptoms.

5. Butterbur: This herb opens up your sinuses and reduces nasal inflammation.

Think your thyroid may be to blame for your fatigue and weight gain? Here are some of my top thyroid tips. 👇🏼

1. Get tested: Ask your doctor for a full hormone panel and get a trusted practitioner to interpret your numbers.

2. Cut out the bad fats and add in the good: Stay away from refined polyunsaturated omega-6 oils like sunflower oil and add in more healthy fats such as butter, coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, and grass-fed beef tallow.

3. Manage your stress: Stress can wreak havoc on your thyroid. Practice meditation, mindfulness, and breathwork to keep your stress in check.

4. Prioritize good sleep: Your thyroid will work better when you sleep better. Get better sleep by getting morning sunlight, removing junk light before bed, and keeping your bedroom between 60-67 degrees F.

5. Avoid fluoride: Fluoride can disrupt thyroid function. Use a high-quality water filter to ensure you aren’t drinking fluoride.

Having some carbs? Here are three scientifically-backed ways to prevent a sharp spike in your glucose:

1. Pair carbs with fat and protein: If you have white rice, pair it with some butter and grass-fed steak or wild-caught seafood.

2. Add high-quality fiber: Fiber slows digestion which can prevent large glucose spikes. The easiest way to get fiber is to consume high-quality, low-toxin veggies like steamed broccoli, asparagus, or cauliflower.

3. Have some acetic acid (vinegar): A shot of diluted apple cider vinegar taken before a meal has been shown to reduce glucose levels post-meal.

Are you breathing through your mouth or your nose?

Part of your nose’s job is to filter and humidify the air you breathe. This helps protect you from pathogens and allergens. Nasal breathing also increases nitric oxide, which helps open up your blood vessels so your tissues can get more oxygen.

When you breathe through your mouth, this can cause dry mouth, bad breath, and cavities. It also leads to abnormalities in the jaw, tooth, and facial structure. If you’re a mouth breather, set reminders throughout your day to close your mouth and breathe through your nose.

The more you practice nose breathing, the more natural it will feel for your body, and the more likely you will be to default to nasal breathing all of the time.
