Arabian state media said on Friday that members of Yemen’s Southern Transitional Council (STC), the leading southern separatist organisation, have agreed to dissolve the group.

Ekhbariya TV said the move by the STC comes as members of the group were in Riyadh for talks aimed at ending weeks of bloodshed and unrest in southern Yemen.

The UAE-backed leader of STC, Aidarous al-Zubaidi, has reportedly fled Yemen and is not taking part in the talks.
