The Cholitas Escaladoras (a group of indigenous Aymara women) climbing in Bolivia 🇧🇴
The Cholitas Escaladoras are a group of Aymara indigenous women who are breaking stereotypes and shifting perceptions in Bolivia.
In January 2019 they summited the peak of Mt Aconcagua, which is the highest mountain outside of Asia.
The Cholitas Escaladoras did so climbing in traditional clothing with their vibrant, billowing dresses, and using their traditional shawls to carry equipment rather than backpacks.
