When the lens of a camera tilts so that it is no longer parallel to the camera's image sensor, it shifts the plane of focus and alters the depth of field.

This is a tilt shift view of a construction site.

Mimosa pudica, can close its leaves rapidly, this defense mechanism is triggered by calcium signals, which can be seen here moving in response to a grasshopper

The fluorescent light tracks the cytosolic calcium in real time.

A study led by Masatsugu Toyota at Saitama University in Japan created a transgenic fluorescent plant to track calcium signals, showing that calcium acts as a long-distance signaling molecule in the plant. When touched, fluorescence rapidly traveled through the leaves, triggering their movement, which may protect the plant from predation.

Grasshoppers preferred to eat mimosa plants genetically created unable to move, over those that reacted to touch.
