*Devin: "First AI Software Engineer" was a lie*

Recently, the supposed 'First AI Software Engineer,' Devin, was announced. The company claimed in their video that it showed Devin completing and getting paid for freelance jobs on Upwork, but it didn't demonstrate that at all.

Internet of Bugs analyzed the Devin Upwork video frame by frame, revealing what Devin was supposed to do, what it actually managed to do instead, and how poorly it performed.

On the whole, this isn't surprising given the current state of Generative AI. There wouldn't be a bother to debunk it, except:

1.The company lied about Devin's capabilities in the video description.
2.Many people uncritically repeated this lie all over the Internet.
3.This led many non-technical individuals to believe that AI might soon replace programmers.
