Subject: Lateral Entry Admission for BTech for Diploma Students.
Sir,
With due respect,
I, Your Name, a final semester student from GB Pant Institute of Technology, Okhla Phase III, Delhi - 110020, have been pursuing a diploma in Mechanical engineering. I have been trying to take admission in BTech through lateral entry process but have been denied admission in the course even though I successfully meet the eligibility criteria.
Lateral entry for BTech courses is being denied by the following institutions for the below-stated reasons:
1. DTU (Delhi Technological University): Has offered lateral entry in very few Course Seats and only
1 seat in Mechanical and does not provide all branches like Computer science, IT, Electrical etc.
2. NSUT (Netaji Subhas University of Technology): Does not provide admission for Diploma Students.
3. GGSIPU ( Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University) : Does not provide admission for Diploma students. There is no government college left in IPU Leet.
4. IIITD(Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology): Does not provide admission for Diploma Students.
5. IGDTU(Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University): Does not provide admission for Diploma Students.
Reply from AICTE Chairmen:- There are already 10% supernumerary seats
and all vacant seats of first year available.
But in reality, above all these colleges in Delhi are not accepting students under these
guidelines.
I humbly request you and your good offices to please look into the matter to get them to follow guidelines for these Delhi colleges
There should be a Delhi Centralized Leet admission process. Which Diploma Engineering students can get admission in BTech according to their rank/knowledge.
This issue continues to affect the lives of thousands of students and is negatively affecting our career and academic goals. I would be forever grateful to you if you could please look into this matter and help us get the fair chance we truly deserve.
