И - İ - off. (ئى) but no one use this, instead ppl use (ئي). In old texts (ا) at the beginning and just (ي) or (_) at the middle.

In the Tatar language, the letter "O" never gives the same sound as in Russian. In many situations, "O" sounds more like "У" or "Ы". For example, this video is an advertisement song for Bolgar Radio, they pronounce "Bolgar" more like "Bulgar." This might be caused by the fact that back in the day, the letter "و" gave a few different sounds [ø̆], [u], [ŏ], [y], [ɤ̆], [w] and this might be the reason why in languages other than Bashkir and Tatar, the letters "o" and "u" are switched.
