⚠️ OpenAI Safety Employee Resigns

David Robinson, an OpenAI employee who worked on safety reports for major product launches, has decided to resign after three and a half years at the company.

Robinson says AI companies need stronger safety systems as their models become more powerful. He believes the current approach can lead to failures and that companies need better guardrails to reduce risks.

OpenAI responded that it is improving security, working with outside evaluators, and using real-time monitoring to detect concerning AI behavior earlier.

💬 Do you think AI companies should slow down when there are safety concerns?

🤖💼 AI Is Changing Developer Job Interviews

HackerRank has launched Chakra, an AI interviewer designed to evaluate developers in a new way.

Instead of only checking whether a candidate gets the right answer, Chakra observes how they solve problems and asks follow-up questions. It can also evaluate skills such as critical thinking and judgment.

Candidates can work with an AI assistant during the interview, helping companies understand how well developers use AI in real-world situations.

During testing, Chakra conducted more than 500,000 interviews. However, the final hiring decision still remains with humans.

🤖🚫 Websites Are Blocking AI Agents

AI agents can now do more than answer questions. They can book flights, make restaurant reservations, order groceries, and complete other tasks for users.

But there is a problem: some websites block these agents. Traditional anti-bot systems may see an AI agent as unwanted automated traffic, even when it is acting for a real customer.

Amazon recently blocked Meta's Muse agent from browsing and making purchases on its retail site. Other companies are also cautious about giving AI agents access to their platforms.

To solve this problem, companies including Meta, Walmart, and Stripe are working on an open standard that could help businesses identify trusted AI agents and separate them from harmful bots.

Would you trust an AI agent to make purchases for you?
