OpenAI Wants California to Strengthen Its AI Safety Bill!

OpenAI is asking California to make its AI safety bill, SB 53, stronger.

The company says recent AI incidents show that new safety risks can appear as AI systems become more powerful.

OpenAI wants the bill to be amended to include stronger rules for monitoring advanced AI models during training and testing.

It also wants better cybersecurity protections to reduce serious risks.

This move is interesting because OpenAI had previously opposed parts of SB 53. Now, its endorsement of stronger safety measures shows a change in its position.

The company says California could help create important AI safety standards, especially while the US still does not have a major federal AI safety law.

برای تمرین زبان هم لازم نیست از همون اول بری سراغ یه موضوع جدید. بهتره ویدیویی رو انتخاب کنی که از قبل با موضوعش آشنایی داری. این‌طوری به‌جای درگیر شدن با مفهوم فنی، بیشتر می‌تونی روی نحوه‌ی صحبت کردن، توضیح دادن مراحل و اصطلاحاتی که استفاده می‌کنه تمرکز کنی.

کوری شفر با لهجه‌ی آمریکایی و تلفظ واضح صحبت می‌کنه و برای کسی که می‌خواد کم‌کم گوشش به انگلیسیِ فضای برنامه‌نویسی عادت کنه، گزینه‌ی خوبیه.

Brave Adds Email Aliases for Better Privacy

Brave has added a new privacy feature that lets users create an alias instead of sharing their real email address when signing up for websites.

Emails sent to the alias are automatically forwarded to the user's main inbox. This can help reduce online tracking, because websites and advertising companies often use email addresses to identify users.

It can also offer extra protection if a website suffers a data breach, since the user's main email address may remain private.

Brave currently offers five free email aliases. More aliases will be available for Premium users.

🤖🧠 Anthropic Tests AI That Improves Other AI Models

Anthropic has shared new research about AI systems that can improve other AI models. An automated researcher reads scientific papers, chooses a training method, and tests it for 30 minutes at a time.

In the study, the system worked on ten AI safety tests. It improved performance in every test without making the model’s overall results worse. The strongest methods were kept, and the weak ones were removed. Anthropic says the automated system costs about $4 per hour, compared with $150 per hour for human researchers.

However, the project still has important limitations. It can only work well when the safety tests and research information are reliable. The results are early, but they show how AI may develop better training methods in the future.
