🤖⚖️ Google Sues AI Scammers!

Can generative AI supercharge global cybercrime? Absolutely, and it is creating unprecedented security challenges.

Recently, Google filed a lawsuit against a Chinese cybercrime syndicate known as "Outsider Enterprise." The complaint alleges that the group weaponized Google's Gemini AI to write code, enabling them to build over 9,000 convincing counterfeit websites.

Within a two-week window, the network blasted 2.5 million fraudulent texts to Android users, meticulously impersonating entities like Google and the USPS. This massive phishing operation successfully harvested confidential credentials and stole millions of dollars.

Consequently, Google is coordinating with the FBI and major carriers to digitally dismantle the hackers' infrastructure.

🤖⚖️ Google Sues AI Scammers!

Can hackers turn AI into a weapon to steal money? Yes, they can, and tech giants are fighting back.

Recently, Google filed a lawsuit against a Chinese cybercrime network called "Outsider Enterprise." The group used Google's own AI tool, Gemini, to create thousands of fake websites and send highly convincing scam messages.

They managed to send 2.5 million fraudulent text messages to Android users in just two weeks. These messages pretended to be from trusted organizations like Google or the US Postal Service. Unfortunately, hundreds of thousands of victims clicked on the links and lost millions of dollars.

Now, Google is collaborating with the FBI and major mobile carriers to destroy this group's network. Experts warn that using AI for phishing is a major security challenge.
