You know, I want to digress a bit from our topic and share a story. My parents taught me that even if you are facing financial difficulties, any celebration should still take place!

So, even during the toughest times in my childhood, we celebrated the New Year, at least at a bare minimum:

We cooked a family dinner, which included baked potatoes, carrots, and chicken, a couple of salads, and even a small dessert - either an apple pie or fruit jelly. We always had fruits and sweets at home.

Over the past year, I have realized the main thing - you need to prioritize yourself always because if you are unhappy, you cannot make anyone else happy, neither friends, nor family, nor your partner. Also, we are responsible for our own happiness and the quality of our lives. That's why, it's never worth regretting what has been done. Therefore, I cannot answer the question of how this year could have been better. After all, we cannot predict what consequences certain changes in our actions in the past would have brought. All we can do is learn from our mistakes and try not to repeat them in the future.

DAY 21. If I went to the Yule Ball

Well, if we're talking about the Harry Potter universe, of course, I would love to go to the Yule Ball with Draco Malfoy – he's my favorite character. Honestly, I'm a terrible dancer – I might step on my partner's feet or even trip. But I think with practice, I could manage to dance. Since Draco is quite a snob, it's unlikely I would end up at the ball with him. In that case, I would go with any friend who invited me. But for such an event, I wouldn't ask a guy out myself; I think the initiative should come from the male side.

If we talk about a real-life Christmas ball, I would definitely go with my partner. In dancing, not only technique and skills matter but also physical trust in the other person. Plus, my partner attended ballroom dance classes for several years, so I think he could teach me how to dance pretty well.

In general, it's my dream to attend a ball that is close to the old traditional ones 💃🏻
