DAY 12. Christmas plans

In my family, we don't celebrate Christmas, so let's talk about the main New Year holiday. I haven't planned the "celebration" yet, but I definitely want to do something more than just cooking & eating. I want to decorate our rooms, hang twinkling lights, create a playlist of Christmas songs, and choose some pleasant movies for a couple of days. I don't support the tradition of cooking for the holiday as if it's our last meal. Instead, I'm thinking of ordering meat dishes (to save time on cooking).

Personally, I'd like to bake the dessert on my own, prepare a side dish, and make a couple of salads, nothing more. By the way, I'm not a fan of the latter; I don't eat them at all. I want to give presents to my family at New Year's midnight to remind them of the anticipation of waiting for a specific day to unwrap gifts.

DAY 13. What matters to me

To be physically and mentally healthy. By the way, this is the main idea of my personal blog, as I aim to not only achieve my dream in 500 days but also improve my overall well-being.

Music. Listening to songs, watching live concerts, playing instruments. I think the influence of music is underrated. In addition to improving mood, it can reach the depths of our souls.

Love. In any of its manifestations. Parental love for a child, love for a friend or partner, love for a pet, love for one's work. Love will save the world. Make love, not war.

Constant development. I am afraid of people who doesn't have any hobbies, interests, or passions. If life revolves around work for money, food, sleep, it is called degradation. Each of us should engage in something that will stimulate the creation of new neurons in the brain. And it doesn't matter if it's gaming, reading, or sports.

You know, I want to digress a bit from our topic and share a story. My parents taught me that even if you are facing financial difficulties, any celebration should still take place!

So, even during the toughest times in my childhood, we celebrated the New Year, at least at a bare minimum:

We cooked a family dinner, which included baked potatoes, carrots, and chicken, a couple of salads, and even a small dessert - either an apple pie or fruit jelly. We always had fruits and sweets at home.

Every person deserves the right to choose, to be happy, and to assert their boundaries, and I am no exception. Over the past year, I have realized the main thing - you need to prioritize yourself always because if you are unhappy, you cannot make anyone else happy, neither friends, nor family, nor your partner. Also, we are responsible for our own happiness and the quality of our lives. That's why, it's never worth regretting what has been done. Therefore, I cannot answer the question of how this year could have been better. After all, we cannot predict what consequences certain changes in our actions in the past would have brought. All we can do is learn from our mistakes and try not to repeat them in the future.
