بعد أكثر من ست سنوات في تعليم القرآن واللغة العربية لغير الناطقين بها، لاحظت شيئًا متكررًا ومثيرًا للاهتمام.

الكثير من العرب والمسلمين المهاجرين في أمريكا وكندا — أو حتى أبنائهم — يتجنبون أحيانًا التواصل المباشر عندما يريدون التوقف عن الدروس، فبدلًا من إرسال رسالة بسيطة ومحترمة يختفون تمامًا دون أي اعتذار أو توضيح.

وفي المقابل، كثير من الأمريكيين الذين أسلموا حديثًا يكونون أكثر وضوحًا واحترامًا في التواصل، سواء عند الاعتذار عن درس أو عند التوقف عن الدروس بشكل نهائي.


أظن أن السبب في ذلك هو الهشاشة النفسية وضعف الشخصية والخوف من مواجهة المواقف المحرجة أو المشكلات بشكل مباشر.

After more than six years of teaching Qur’an and Arabic to non-native speakers, I’ve noticed an interesting pattern.

Many Arab and Muslim immigrants in the U.S. and Canada — or even their children — often avoid directly communicating when they want to stop lessons. Instead of sending a simple respectful message, they sometimes disappear completely.

On the other hand, many American converts to Islam are usually very clear and respectful in communication, whether apologizing for missing a lesson or deciding to stop entirely.

I think the reason behind this is emotional fragility, weak character, and fear of facing uncomfortable situations directly

Just an observation from years of teaching different communities.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

"There are no days during which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these days." meaning the (first) ten days of Dhul Hijjah.

Dhul Hijjah will begin on Monday, May 18, 2026

That would make:

Day of ‘Arafah (9 Dhul Hijjah): Tuesday, May 26, 2026

Eid al-Adha (10 Dhul Hijjah): Wednesday, May 27, 2026

بعث رسولُ اللهِ ﷺ أبا موسى على سريةٍ في البحرِ، فبينما هم كذلك وقد رفعوا الشراعَ في ليلةٍ مظلمةٍ، إذا هاتفٌ فوقهم يهتف:
“يا أهلَ السفينةِ، قفوا أُخبركم بقضاءٍ قضاه اللهُ على نفسِه.”
فقال أبو موسى: “أخبرنا إن كنتَ مُخبرًا.”
قال:
“إنَّ اللهَ تعالى قضى على نفسِه:
أنه من أعطش نفسَه له في يومٍ صائفٍ سقاه اللهُ يومَ العطشِ.”


The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent Abu Musa on a naval expedition. While they were at sea, having raised the sail on a dark night, a caller called out above them:

“O people of the ship, stop so I may inform you of a decree that Allah has decreed upon Himself.”

Abu Musa said, “Inform us, if you are going to inform us.”

The caller said:

“Indeed, Allah has decreed upon Himself that whoever makes himself thirsty for His sake on a hot day, Allah will give him drink on the Day of Thirst.”
