‍ راهنمای اصطلاحات آهنگ Focus از Ariana Grande

نکته 1- Ain't در محاوره معادل Am not, Is not, Are not ـه.


نکته 2- Go ahead یعنی "بفرما بگو" یا "بفرما انجام بده".
Example 1:
A: Do you mind if I smoke?
B: No, go ahead
آ: اشکالی نداره سیگار بکشم؟ (اذیت نمیشید اگه سیگار بکشم؟)
ب: نه، بفرمایید

Example 2:
Go ahead, I'm listening
"بفرما می شنوم"


نکته 3- در عبارت مصطلح Take the bait، واژه bait یعنی "طعمه" یا به عبارتی غذایی که برای شکار استفاده میشه. مثل کرم خاکی برای گرفتن ماهی. Take the bait یعنی "قبول کردن" یا پذیرفتن چیزی یا کاری که آخرش پشیمونیه. بهترین معادلی که میشه برای Take a bait در نظر گرفت "دم به تله دادن" ـه.
Example:
I hit on Kate, teased her some, but she never took the bait
"با کیت لاس زدم و کمی هم وسوسه‌اش کردم اما اون اصلن دم به تله نداد"


نکته 4- Hold back: جلوی ابراز احساسات خود را گرفتن/پنهان کردن احساسات
Example 1:
Nancy tried to hold back the tears
"نانسی سعی می‌کرد جلوی گریه کردنشو بگیره"

Example 2:
It was really hard to hold back my anger
"خیلی سخت بود که جلوی عصبانیتم رو بگیرم (بروز ندم)"


نکته 5- Keep on یعنی به انجام دادن کاری اصرار داشتن، مدام کاری رو انجام دادن. توجه کنید بعد از Keep on فعل‌مون به صورت استمراری بکار میره.
Example:
Why do you keep on calling Brad?
"چرا دم به دقه (مدام) به برد زنگ می‌زنی؟"


نکته 6- Hold somebody down: جلوی کسی را گرفتن، مانع شدن، محدود کردن
Example 1:
The regime have been holding down its people for years
"این رژیم سالهاست شهروندان خود را محدود کرده است"

Example 2:
It took three cops to hold him down
"پلیسا سه نفری تونستن جلوشو بگیرن"


نکته 7- Be about to do sth: قصد انجام کاری را داشتن، در شرف انجام کاری بودن
Example:
Oh, I was just about to call you
"همین الان می‌خواستم بهت زنگ بزنم"


نکته 8- Put away: دور نگه داشتن کسی یا چیزی از خود، از فکر و ذهن دور نگه داشتن
Example:
She decided to put away her fear
"اون تصمیم گرفت که ترسش رو کنار بذاره (ترس رو از فکر و ذهنش دور کنه)"
