IBRO SURVIVED MID-LEVEL CAREER CRISIS WITH DATA-ENTRY ACADEMY

Ibro was 38.
He studied Business Administration in the University.
After graduation, he worked briefly at a printing press owned by his uncle, then got a better paying job in an airline.

Ibro had worked 13 years.
He was the Key Accounts Officer to over 70 Corporate organizations who bought all their travel tickets from the airline.
His main duty was to take their bookings and book their flights.
He dealt with the logistics and travel teams of these organizations.

Then tragedy struck.
The airline was not repaying their massive bank loans.
Investigations revealed there was massive mismanagement and even alleged diversion of funds.
New management took over immediately and their first duty was to cut down costs.

Ah!
Ibro was affected. He was asked to resign voluntarily.

After 13 years of service, Ibro was leaving the airline.
The only core skill he had, was how to issue tickets and attend to emails from his customer organizations.
Nothing more.

Ibro wondered how he could fit back into regular worklife.
His job role was something that only fitted into airlines or travels space.
He wanted to have more options.

Every job for his age range wanted someone with experience. The only experience Ibro had, was issuing tickets.

What would he do?
Mid-level career crisis had hit him.
Ah! It was a rough time in those 10 months of sitting at home and thinking.

Then he stumbled on Data-Entry Academy advert one day.
And he thought to himself, "What if I learn these modern-day work tools and skills - wouldnt it give me a clue into what happens in other workplaces today? Atleast I can learn enough to become a generalist in Administration and maybe run the admin/back office of an organization"
Great idea!

So he enrolled in Batch 12 and went through the Academy diligently. He learnt many different software and skills.

While updating his profile on LinkedIn one day, he noticed his two former classmates were forming an electricity vending company. Surely, I can help run the administrative side of things, he thought.

He reached out. Ibro was always known to be a great and diligent guy from school. Sam and Caleb were so excited to have him. They were even searching for someone to manage the office while they focus on their core (the tech side of things).

Ibro was the perfect COO (Chief Operating Officer). He could handle the backend operations like admin, recordkeeping, people and facility management and more.

Ibro joined.
Salary was great. It was 2.3x what he was earning at the airline.
Many of the tools he learnt at Data-Entry Academy became handy.
He seemed like a genius to Sam and Caleb as he organized the entire office processes.

This was a big win for Ibro.
Mid-level career crisis couldn't get him because he immediately caught up with his new skills.

What about you who is struggling with career?
You need more options like Ibro?
You need to learn tools that are used in many workplaces today?
You need to become more versatile?
You dont want to be restricted because of your job role?

Then come to Data-Entry Academy.

KEMI WAS CALLED “OVERQUALIFIED”, BUT IN REALITY, SHE WAS JUST OUTDATED

Kemi had a solid career in HR.
Worked with 3 companies over 15 years.
Managed people, policies, and payrolls.

She had always believed that her long experience would secure her forever.
Until one day, it didn’t.

Her company restructured.
They were “going digital.”
They needed people who could use tools like HR software, spreadsheets, project trackers, and dashboards.

Kemi could barely use Google Sheets.
She was used to paper files and Excel 2007.

When she started applying for new jobs, the rejection letters all said the same thing:

“You are overqualified for this role.”

But deep down, Kemi knew the truth, she wasn’t overqualified.
She was outdated.

Months passed and she began to wonder if she would ever work.

Then one afternoon, while scrolling through Instagram, she saw a post from Data-Entry Academy.
It said: “Learn workplace tools that make you employable in today’s world.”

That line hit her hard.
She thought, “If tools are what’s missing, then I’ll learn them.”

Kemi joined Batch 14.
She learned spreadsheets, Google tools, report writing, recordkeeping, and even how to manage teams digitally.

For the first time in years, she felt alive again - learning, practicing, catching up with modern work life.

Two months later, she got invited to interview for a People Operations role in an outsourcing company.
The interview focused heavily on digital HR processes, exactly what she had just learnt.

Kemi got the job, with a decent pay.

Today, she often tells people,

“I wasn’t overqualified. I was just unskilled for the new world of work.”

And she’s right.
Many mid-level professionals are not lacking experience, they are lacking digital exposure.

Don’t let that be your story.
Update your skills like Kemi did.

Now it’s time to enroll in Data-Entry Academy Batch 18.

10 SOFTWARE THAT BOOKKEEPERS WORK WITH

A bookkeeper primarily handles day-to-day financial transactions, recording them accurately into software.

An accountant, on the other hand, interprets and analyzes the financial data, providing insights, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance.

While bookkeepers focus on the tiny details of each transaction, accountants take a broader financial perspective.

So now that you now the difference between a Bookkeeper and an Accountant, let's discuss 10 different software that a Bookkeeper in a small business uses.

1. Invoicing software - to issue customer invoices

2. Retail software - to serve retail customers

3. Spreadsheets - to process and calculate numeric data

4. Inventory Management systems - to track inventory

5. Word processing tools - to prepare documents like letters

6. Cloud storage tools - to store receipts and documents safely

7. Electronic Forms- To collect information from different locations and departments

8. Expense Tracking software - to get approval, spend and track expenses of the business

9. Online meeting tools - to hold virtual meetings

10. Bookkeeping software - to capture all financial transactions of a business

All these 10 different types of software are taught in Data-Entry Academy.

Because Bookkeepers are not necessarily core accountants, we are however very careful not to turn the academy into an accounting school.

So, No! We are not an accounting school. We are a school that teach digital workplace skills and basic bookkeeping is a digital workplace skill.

We teach simple bookkeeping tools that everyone can use.

If you are an employee
If you are a business owner
If you are an intending freelancer
If you just a person who has interest in basic bookkeeping
Come to Data-Entry Academy

You will learn basic bookkeeping skills and tools.

You can use the skill in your business or workplace; you can also sell the skill.

HOW CAN DATA-ENTRY ACADEMY HELP DR. AKAOLISA RUN HIS PRACTICE?

Dr. Akaolisa is a Bariatric Surgeon. He helps patients manage obesity through advanced weight management surgeries.

He recently relocated back to Nigeria to set up a full-fledged medical practice.

He is excellent at medicine.
But running a hospital requires more than medical expertise; it requires structure, systems, and digital organization.

He realized he needs to put some structure to the following.

1. Invoices and Patient Payments
Patients pay for surgeries, sometimes in installments. Someone must issue invoices, track payments, and send reminders.

2. Inventory Management
Drugs, consumables, and surgical materials must be recorded and monitored to avoid waste, theft, or stockouts.

3. Patient Management System
No more paper files. Each patient should have a digital record of appointments, history, payments, and progress, all properly managed.

4. Staff Payroll
Doctors, nurses, admin officers and everyone needs to be paid accurately and on time. Payroll systems must capture days worked, salaries, allowances, and deductions.

5. Financial Reports
Every month, the hospital’s income and expenses must be summarized into clear, decision-ready reports.

6. Supplier & Facility Management
Vendors supplying drugs, lab reagents, and consumables must be tracked. Equipment maintenance schedules need to be documented and followed up.

All these require digital tools like spreadsheets, online forms, accounting tools, inventory software, scheduling systems, collaboration platforms, and more.

And that’s exactly what Data-Entry Academy teaches.

In just 30 days, Dr. Akaolisa (or his admin staff) can learn over 40 workplace digital tools, from Google Sheets and QuickBooks to many other tools that can transform how a medical practice runs.

Because being good at medicine is one thing, but running an organized, efficient, and profitable medical practice requires digital structure.

Just like Dr. Akaolisa, it’s time to enroll in Data-Entry Academy Batch 18. Classes start on 01Nov2025. The deadline for enrollment is 28Oct2025.

IKANKE WAS TIRED OF VOLUNTEERING WITHOUT INCOME

Ikanke had a good heart.
He loved helping people.

For five years, he volunteered with different NGOs; organizing outreaches, coordinating field workers, writing sheets upon sheets of field data reports, here and there.

But the truth was, he was broke.
He loved the work, but he couldn’t keep surviving on transport stipends and “God bless you.”

Every time a new paid role was announced at the NGO, he applied.
And every time, he got the same feedback:

“We need someone who is techy and can handle digital reports and documentation.”

He always lost the role to someone who “understood spreadsheets, data entry, office tools, working on a computer, or digital reporting.”

Ikanke began to wonder - is it really just working on a computer with different tools, that is standing between me and being employed here?

Then one day, a friend forwarded him a post from Data-Entry Academy.
It read:

“Learn the workplace and digital tools that make you employable in just 30 days.”

That line felt written for him.
He didn’t waste time.
He enrolled in Batch 14.

In one month, Ikanke learnt spreadsheets and tools for recordkeeping, report writing, project management, virtual meetings, bookkeeping, collaboration, project management, budgeting and even how to make proper digital documentation for projects.

His eyes opened.
He realized that the real reason he was stuck was not because he wasn’t smart, but because he wasn’t skilled in the modern tools that organizations now use.

His work pattern changed.
Every task was now digitally done.
Asides getting his uncle to buy him a laptop, he started spending extra hours at the NGO office, turning all his field paper work into digital records and working digitally. He even deployed a bookkeeping tool for the NGO.

He also started helping some staff members with their excessive work during times of pressure and deadlines.

Five months after graduation, the NGO opened a new donor-funded project.
They needed someone to manage the project reports, data, and field submissions.

Ikanke applied again and this time, confident.
He prepared a sample donor report using Google Sheets and Slides, and attached to his application.

When they saw his work, the team lead was excited at his growth.
“You’ve improved so much. Did you take a course?”

Ikanke smiled, “Yes. I went to a school called Data-Entry Academy. They teach workplace skills and tools.”

He got the role, his first paid position in 5 years of volunteering.
Today, he is a Programs and Reporting Officer for the same NGO that once turned him down.

His life changed the moment he decided to skill up.

You might love what you do…
But if you don’t have the skills that make your work valuable, you will keep being overlooked.

Don’t let that happen again.
Upgrade your skills now, just like Ikanke did.

Now it’s time to enroll in Data-Entry Academy Batch 18.

ARINZE COUNTS HIMSELF LUCKY - HIS MENTOR EMPHASIZED THE PLACE OF SKILLS SO STRONGLY TO HIM

Arinze was one of our participants in Data-Entry Academy Batch 11.

He says he is one of the lucky few.

Unlike many others whose parents and mentors kept screaming about going to school and getting a job, Arinze's mentor kept screaming about having in-demand skills.

He says it felt as though his mentor had seen the shift in the world economy in favor of skills and kept screaming about it.

Arinze says skills have brought him so far.

Coming from a poor home, you would think he would suffer so much through school and more, but he didn't.

With skills, he was always one step ahead of others and gladly earned a livelihood from solving the pressing problems of others.

He remembers being great at research and typing in school that he earned huge from helping out with projects of his classmates.

That's why he jumped in quickly when he heard about Data-Entry Academy.

He says no one needs to preach too long to him about in-demand skills and the self reliance they bring.

He says he has been a huge beneficiary of earning from skills sold to people all around him.

Since graduation from Data-Entry Academy, Arinze has been earning no less than 400k Naira monthly doing bookkeeping, inventory management, process automation and trainings for small businesses.

He remains ever so thankful for his mentors (Chief Ubaka, he calls him). He was the one who drummed the place of skills into his ears early enough.

Chief Ubaka bought him his first laptop and insisted he took basic computer appreciation classes even before he finished secondary school.

May we learn from Arinze and his mentor.
May we truly understand the place of skills in today’s world.
May we take on digital skills with the same enthusiasm as Arinze did.

May we become truly self-reliant people using our simple digital in-demand skills.

THINK SKILLS, NOT JUST CONNECTIONS

See how Damilare is starring at that vacancy and thinking about Uncle Dipo's connections, not his skills.

Even if Uncle Dipo knows the CEO, even if he can make one phone call to get you into the company, even if he has enough influence to get your CV looked at before anyone else’s, he still prefers you skilled.

Because Uncle Dipo knows the truth.
Connections can open doors, but skills keep you inside.

Every employer, every business owner, every manager is looking for people who can actually do the work, not just people who know someone.

It’s not enough to “get the job.” You must be able to deliver results, solve problems, and make yourself valuable.

And that’s where Data-Entry Academy comes in.

At Data-Entry Academy, we train Africans to become skilled, confident, and self-reliant.

In just 30 days, you’ll learn over 40 software tools and 30 practical workplace skills.

We have seen many people transform in one month.
People who once relied on family or friends to “help them get something” are now earning on their own, either through remote jobs, side gigs, or by organizing their own businesses better.

That’s what we mean by speed to self-reliance.
Because we understand that in today’s world, you can’t depend only on who you know; you must depend on what you can do.

So the next time you think of calling Uncle Dipo, think twice.
Ask yourself:
“If he recommends me, can I actually perform?”
“If I get the job, will I last beyond probation?”
“If I meet a big opportunity tomorrow, am I ready?”

If your answer is not a confident “yes,” then you already know your next step. Get skilled.

DAVID PREPARED BEFORE THE STORM

David was 35.
He worked with a manufacturing company in Lagos.
For seven years, he had been in charge of logistics and warehouse coordination.

He loved his job.
He was loyal, punctual, and dependable.
But he had noticed something strange in the last few months; the company’s operations were changing fast.

They had started automating reports.
The new Operations Manager wanted digital dashboards.
Meetings that used to hold in person were now happening on Google Meet.

And new interns seemed to know more tools than older staff.

One afternoon, during a management briefing, the HR Manager said,

“We’re considering automating certain roles to cut costs and improve efficiency.”

David felt a chill run down his spine.
He knew what that meant.
He wasn’t about to be caught unprepared.

That night, he went online and searched:

“Digital skills for workplace relevance.”

That’s how he found Data-Entry Academy.
The words that struck him were, “We help you stay employable in a changing workplace.”

He enrolled in Batch 15 quietly.
No one at work knew.
Every evening after work, he joined his online classes on his phone.
He learnt Google Sheets, data organization, inventory management tools, report writing, and project coordination.

As he learnt, he started applying small changes at work - he built a digital stock record template, automated reports, and created a Google Form for warehouse requests.

The management noticed.
“What app did you use for this?” they asked.
He replied confidently, “I learnt it recently.”

Two months later, the restructuring happened.
Five people in his department were let go.
But David was promoted to Operations Supervisor, in charge of the entire reporting system.

His secret? He had prepared early.

In today’s world, the question is no longer “Will change come?”; it’s “When will it come, and will you be ready?”

Automation, AI, and technology are already reshaping workplaces.
The people who will survive are not the most experienced but they are the most adaptable.

That’s what Data-Entry Academy teaches - adaptability through digital competence.
We prepare you before you are forced to prepare.

So, if you sense that your company or industry is changing fast…
Don’t wait until your name is on the redundancy list.
Do what David did - prepare early.

Data-Entry Academy Batch 18 is now enrolling.
Classes start 01 November 2025. It's the last batch of the year.

INTRODUCING: 20 THINGS I DID TO SELL MY SKILLS

My name is Chioma Ifeanyi-Eze. I am a strong advocate for learning skills, but I am also a stronger advocate for knowing how to sell those skills.

Since I quit paid employment in 2015 and launched Accountinghub in 2016, I have spent the years selling my knowledge and skills in different ways.

I have sold accounting software and trained thousands of people.

I have provided bookkeeping services to over 700 businesses and consulted with more than 1,000.

I have sold ebooks and downloadable PDFs to more thousands.

I have sold low-priced short online accounting and marketing courses (2k, 5k, 10k, 15k, 30k) to more thousands.

I have offered high-ticket marketing consultations to many SMEs.

I convened the Maaaaad Marketing Conference last year, and many, many thousands of people paid and attended both physically and online.

Then, I have sold and trained more than 18k people in Data-Entry Academy.

Recently, I looked through the platform records, and more than 70k people had paid me in the last 9 years to access my knowledge and skills.

No, I am not making up these numbers; they exist on a platform and are verifiable.

So, I have decided to share with you how I sold my knowledge and skills over these years to 70k+ people.

I have introduced a new addition to the Data-Entry Academy Curriculum called, "20 Things I Did to Sell My Skills".

Every Saturday and Sunday morning in the Data Entry Academy, I will share a simple audio teaching with you.

I am not in doubt that this simple but powerful teaching will be a game-changer for many.

I often say that knowledge is not pedestrian. This means that valuable knowledge does not stand on the road where you just meet it as you are walking by. No! It sits in deep places where those who want it will seek it out.

I celebrate you. This is a jackpot.

I am eager to share. I hope you are eager and excited to learn.

Having a skill is not enough; you must be able to sell it. Come and learn from me.

I do not need to ask you to fly into Data Entry Academy Batch 18, even if this is the only reason you jumped in.

Classes start on 01Nov2025. The deadline to enroll is 28Oct2025. This is the last batch for 2025.

I DIDN'T GROW BECAUSE I BOUGHT MORE TRUCKS, I GREW BECAUSE I BECAME MORE ORGANIZED

Gbenga ran a small haulage business in Ibadan; three trucks, six drivers, and endless stress.

He started well.
His first few years were smooth because he handled everything himself - bookings, drivers, fuel, payments, and maintenance.

But as the business grew, disorder crept in.

There were days two clients claimed to have booked the same truck.

Sometimes a driver would say, “Oga, I don reach Abuja,” when he was actually still in Lokoja.

Fuel money went missing.
Spare parts were bought twice.
Payments from clients were scattered across notebooks, receipts, and WhatsApp chats.

Gbenga was drowning, not in lack of business, but in lack of structure.

One day, a long-time client called angrily:

“Gbenga, your records are a mess. We can’t even reconcile our payments to you.”

That call broke him.
He realized his biggest problem wasn’t the economy, or his staff, it was his ignorance of modern business management tools.

Then one evening, scrolling through Facebook, he saw a post from Data-Entry Academy:

“We help business owners get organized using digital tools.”

That line felt like a lifeline.
He clicked immediately.

Within a few hours, he was enrolled in Batch 10.

For 30 days, Gbenga showed up for every class.
He learnt spreadsheets, bookkeeping, Google Drive, recordkeeping, and inventory management.

He discovered how to create digital logs for each trip, tracking departure time, delivery time, fuel cost, and payment status.

He built a client payment tracker using Google Sheets and later migrated it to a bookkeeping tool.

Now, he could tell at a glance who had paid, who owed, and how much each truck had earned that month.

He even created a simple form for drivers to update trip details daily, using their phones.

Within two months, everything changed.

His accountant could now reconcile easily.
Clients started calling him “very organized.”
And most importantly, his profit grew, because he could finally see where the money was leaking.

Six months later, a manufacturing company reached out.
They needed a small haulage firm with transparent systems to handle their logistics.
They had seen his well-organized digital reports and trip summaries from another client.

That single contract doubled Gbenga’s revenue.

Today, Gbenga tells other business owners:

“I didn’t grow because I bought more trucks. I grew because I got more organized.”

Growth without structure is chaos.
Many businesses fail, not because of low sales, but because of poor organization.

Digital tools are not for big companies, they are for smart ones.
Even a one-man business can use Google Sheets, Drive, or Zoho Books to stay organized.

You can’t manage what you don’t record.
Recordkeeping is the foundation of business success.

Skill is the new capital.
What Gbenga gained from Data-Entry Academy gave him more leverage than a bank loan ever could.

You can do what Gbenga did.
If you run a business that is growing but messy. This is your time to bring order and structure.
Don’t wait until you lose your biggest client.

Now it’s time to enroll in Data-Entry Academy Batch 18.
Classes start 01Nov2025. It's the last batch of the year.
Enrollment deadlineis 28Oct2025.

FROM MANUAL NURSES TO DIGITAL NURSES

When Nurse Abigail and Nurse Dilim started their nursing careers, everything was done manually. There were handwritten patient notes, paper-based drug charts, and endless folders that piled up faster than they could manage.

They were efficient nurses, but deep down, they knew that the world around them was changing. Hospitals abroad were already going digital, while many in Nigeria were still drowning in paperwork.

One day, Nurse Abigail stumbled on a post from Data-Entry Academy about using digital tools to manage workplace records. It sounded interesting. Even though nurses didn’t usually think about “digital” as part of their work, but she enrolled anyway ans even got Nurse Dilim, her colleague at work to enroll.

That single decision changed everything.

At Data-Entry Academy, she and Dilim learned how to use Google Sheets, Forms, and digital record systems to manage patient data.

They learnt inventory tracking for drugs and consumables, report writing, and even calendar management to schedule shifts efficiently.

In just 30 days, they went from overwhelmed manual nurses to organized digital nurses.

When their hospital started transitioning to digital systems, both nurses became the go-to people for recordkeeping, patient updates, and digital communication. They helped the hospital streamline operations thereby, saving hours of manual paperwork every week.

Nurse Abigail was quickly promoted to Head of Nursing Records and Administration, handling patient data and inventory digitally, assisted by Nurse Dilim. They both got pay increases.

Nurse Dilim, on the other hand, started helping small private clinics organize their patient files and build simple digital record systems; a side gig that now earns her an extra ₦150,000 every month.

Both of them went from struggling to keep up, to controlling how work flows in the nursing department.

Today, Nurse Abigail says,

“I never imagined learning digital skills would make me more valuable in my career. Data-Entry Academy made me realize that every profession is becoming digital, even nursing.”

From manual to digital.
From slow to speed.
From just nurses to digitally empowered professionals.

That’s the kind of career speed growth Data-Entry Academy creates.
Not in years, but in just 30 days.

Now it’s your turn to grow.
Enroll in Data-Entry Academy Batch 18. Classes start on 01Nov2025. The deadline for enrollment is 28Oct2025.

DEAR SOFT DAMI,

We saw your tweet.
And yes, you are right, not everyone has a passion for tech.

It’s about survival.

The world has changed. The workplace has changed. The way we live, earn, and even communicate has changed.
